Asking the right questions in this context simply means coming at it from a stance of curiosity about what the person actually thinks vs trying to set them up to fall into some rhetorical trap. This is why mainstream journalism has mostly failed, journalists no longer purse things from a place of curiosity to see where it takes them, they have a preconceived position and they are just looking for soundbites to support that narrative.

The Media has been working over time trying to smear him. I didn't realize until listening to The Shawn Ryan Show's interview of Megan Kelly - where she explained that the now infamous Cat Lady comment was taken really out of context. Megan explained that when JD made those comments, there was a Trend going around of - particularly single woman - saying how awful it would be to have children and loose their "freedom", etc, etc. I think even AOC chimed in as well as woman with children complaining about how horrible children are. JD's comment basically just boiled down to Let's not let weird, ULTRA self-centered cat ladies destroy this country by let them focus on what they WANT in the immediate term and actually think about the future generation and what they need (Not to mention the current generation will need the next generation to take care of them in old age and actually make things when the current generation retires - which this current ultra selfcentered generation will need)

If you're one of those people who's on the fence or undecided, that maybe you're not a big fan of Harris but you're hesitant about Trump/Vance as well... I HIGHLY encourage you to CUT the mainstream media out of your decision making process entirely. They have no interest in providing an unbiased perspective to help you make an informed decision. They've all picked their sides. The media coverage is overly partisan anymore. CNN, ABC, MSNBC, they all have a vested interest in making sure they help Democrats win. And Fox News has a vested interest to support Republicans. Both tailor their coverage based on what helps their preferred candidate/party. I would recommend watching long form interviews and podcasts. Trump has appeared on ALL IN before, a couple months ago. He's done Shawn Ryan, Theo Von, Lex Friedman, JD Vance went on Full Send as well and quite possibly some others I can't remember. Trump also did a golf collab with Bryson DeChambeau shortly before the assassination attempt. It wasn't political at all, they just played a round of golf and hung out. It's a completely different side of Trump that most people don't see. So that's what I'd do. I'd also recommend looking up interviews and podcasts with both Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr, who are both on Trump's transition team and will likely play significant roles in government, should Trump win. People need to understand that in our current state of politics, the media puts a filter over the information they provide to us. It comes with spin, opinion, and oftentimes they leave out context and they lie by omission all of the time. They sell headlines and narratives just like a car dealership tries to sell you on a car you don't want, with features you didn't ask for.

I agree with you. It’s similar to a business refusing to promote their products and services publicly and refusing to warranty them. One must seriously doubt the sincerity of a business who would do that and definitely question their ability to be successful. I would expect at least a narcissistic attempt to lie to us. All I’ve seen them say publicly is some version of copycatting DJT policies l, such as no tax on tips, or a complete reversal of all the policies they touted until recently. It’s the most chaotic, insane thing I’ve seen a politician do ever.

No but also the democrats are coming after big tech whether it is breaking up companies like Google, re-enforcing artist rights to their works so AI can’t be used as a generic excuse as to why they re-sell works and reducing the investment into tech as a whole and being more strategic. Trump on the other hand is trying to attract this crowd, same crowd that left Florida and now returning to California.

@@2011hwalkerthe point is dual fold. That Pennsylvania violated their own state constitution when it came to election laws, and that it went without question or pushback from those who had the ability to do so. If the shoe were on the other foot and a swing state that went for republicans had at the last minute cut early voting or same day registration there would be an outcry. I think the deeper legal theory is flawed but it is a defensible position.

We are producing more oil under Biden than any president in US history…US exports 40% of the oil we drill to other countries….oil prices are controlled by the world….. how are you going to make drugs more affordable while paying Americans 15/hr vs the $4/hr they are paid in China? Consider that payroll is 40% of most businesses in the US.

He knows Kamala didn't organize a mob to try and overturn an election she lost. That's enough for many people. I thought JD was very good in this interview, but he clearly sidestepped JCal's question about would he refuse to certify the election. He said something about "I'd just want us to have a broader debate", which is ridiculous. The courts had all already ruled. The election was over. It's clear that JD was saying that he would have refused to certify, which, again... many may find disqualifying.

Whether or not any of us agree with everything he is saying, we should be appreciative of these longer form conversations. They are a lot more valuable than what comes out of a debate where we give a candidate 30-60 seconds to answer a complex question that doesn’t have a simple sound bite answer.
