Ive owned my 1zz Celica for 10 years this year, in my ownership its done 80k miles. Absolutely flawless ownership and barely cost me anything to maintain, cant fault it! You should get another ;) I know someone selling a low mileage one!

It was a very tough decision to sell this one. I didn't have it for sale even. I'll be back in one soon. I've a 2001 CLK Mercedes to keep the channel going until then. Thanks for sharing some 1zz love

I got a few people asking to buy mine i got it real cheap. And could easily make a chunk of cash but shes staying with me i have had 1zz engines with no problems and the same with the 2zz. But the 2zz reving to 8 400 with a jdm ecu is the winner for me

I had it in silver and it got plenty of respect. Just don't chav up your car, you'll be fine.

I've been driving one for almost 10 years now. I can summarize the Celica as basically a sportier 2 door version of an early 2000's Corolla with all the longevity of a Toyota built around that time. The only thing is you gotta keep up on your maintenance. Both the economy 1ZZ in the GT and the high performance 2ZZ engine in the GTS had a couple of issues. The 1zz like to use/burn oil, especially if you were lax on regular oil changes, and the 2zz likes to break the original style lift bolts. If you ever buy a GTS, or anything with the 2ZZ, the first thing you should do it pop the coils and valve cover and replace both lift bolts on the rocker shafts with the new, updated (the pointier) ones, even if it was already done at some point. The parts are cheap but fixing broken lift bolts is not. The car will still run with broken lift bolts but it will lose a lot of power above ~6000rpm because the rockers won't activate on the high lift cam lobes. The 2ZZ especially is also very sensitive to oil starvation/lack of maintenance.

Preventative car is best. If you car isn't rusted now, get the underbody sealed and waxed ASAP. Rust issues are dependant on Geography. UK and Canada are probably the worst geographies for it. But we can't rule out the Northerly US and EU states too.
