A great talent, and a lovely warm personality. ❤ As a teenager i immersed myself in her album 'Freefall through Featherless Flight'. An extraordinary listening experience and what an amazing voice!! Thankyou Jeannie! ✊

I visited The Yellow House when I was twelve after seeing an article in Dolly magazine. It changed my life. I became an artist & art teacher. My flatmate played Victor Jara. I still have the tape & Jeannie’s double album. I will never forget Jeannie Lewis or the amazing Yellow House artists & musicians.& the texture feely box you put your hand in & the perfume atomisers in the bathroom. I didn’t realise at age twelve who the people were at The Yellow House but found out later. I saw Margret Roadnight for my 21st birthday at Soup Plus Restaurant in George Street, Sydney - also still have her album.

omg this is so fabulous! I have so much to thank Jeannie for...my activism, my empathy, my wisdom of worlds beyond my own. She probably is too humble to understand the reach she had in peoples lives.

Fine but the 79 views suggests my thoughts, who's ever heard of this woman and why would you do a interview with her?

I think your comment says more about the mainstream media than it does of the importance of Jeannie's work.

@@Neil-Aspinall Let me put it in another way - Jeannie was described as "one of the most enigmatic and expressive, yet underrated singers Australia has ever produced... Always able to adapt her emotional and dramatic voice to suit a range of moods and styles. You may not agree and that’s OK but she was selected to be interviewed for that reason. Jeannie’s work covers many different styles such as folk, jazz, prog, Latin, blues, opera, rock and fusion. She can also sing in French and Spanish
