That's so funny. I have a humbucker in the neck position of my Tele that I'm happy with, but I've been toying with the idea of replacing the bridge with a Ron Ellis for awhile. When I was shopping on his website I saw the Killa and I thought "That's just how Jedd Hughes would say it." Guess I heard you use the word before, lol.

I have a CS 52 Tele with a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbucker in the neck, and I replaced the Fender Broadcaster bridge pickup with Ron's 50B, and I will say, it's not the best combo, only because the 50B has a little less output and is brighter than the original Fender pup. I'm trying to decide if I should try a Frisell humbucker or Ellisonic in the neck, maybe with a higher-wound 52T or 50/60T, or if I should just throw a Killa in the neck. Decisions, decisions...🤔
@davidpepper442

I have the SD Seth Lover as well. I was eyeing the 50/60T. I guess I could scrap the Duncan and just go with a full Ron Ellis set. Quite an investment though. Good luck man!

@@davidpepper442 you too! If you can find a lower output neck humbucker, either one of Ron's Bette or Frisell pickups, or maybe a Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday or something along those lines, im sure it would work better with whatever you put in the bridge than the Seth Lover.

I've been thinking of buying one of these pickups for a while now. This video pushed me to finally do it. What a sound... (I was going to do an Ellisonic in the neck and a Killa in the middle, but now I'm thinking of a Killa in the neck AND middle...)

@@rhp52 well, hard to describe. The original pickups are great and I kept the bridge pickup original, the killa just gave it a more full, yet open sound on neck and combo. Was great as it was, but I got a little more mojo w the Ellis. If that makes sense:)

Hey Jedd... Think I missed a couple 8( I just can't do FB, long story. I just bought a hard tail Strat, it has CS 50's pups I'm not in love with. I've got a ,120 1 ply acrylic pick guard, left over from a Gilmour Black Strat build. That RE "Killa" might be cool for the neck pos, I play on the neck pup a lot! Maybe a Duncan "stacked HB" for the bridge, and middle taped over. LOL Good to see you, hope all's well!! 8) --gary

I've got a real 51 Nocaster (refin and re fret) with an amazing bridge pickup and such a dog original neck pickup.Low output, tried messing with the wiring (dark circuit stuff) and I have come to the conclusion it's just a crappy pickup . So Maybe I'll buy one of these and put the original safely back in the case. So while those old Blackguards can be magical (and the bridge pickup is!) sometimes time or whatever reveals not all of Leo's very early guitars are perfect in every way. '
@JeddHughesOfficial

I’ve come across the same thing with old blackguards quite a bit mate. Roaring and rocking bridge pickup and dark and ultimately unusable neck pickup ( even with the dark circuit bypassed. Every now and then I play one with a totally money neck pickup but not often. This might be a good option for ya mate? Sounds like a killer guitar!
