uhhhh a 10$ sensor isnt going to have the correct magnet strength.... the CPS is a sensor you want to buy from mopar... im a Jeep guy for the passt 20 years.. I am absolutetly shocked you got 71 thumbs up for this.. The 10$ amazon sensors, the magnet cant even hold a trim screw... the mopar you gatta pry the screw off... but hey have fun breaking down again. Mopar does make the cps for the ZJ and XJ still brand new..

@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 Funny thing is just how wrong you are. Your first mistake was to assume that we're using Amazon sensors, but I have installed many over the past 30 years as a professional tech and they work just fine. With inflation and crap since covid if you pay more than $25 for a Mopar crank sensor then you're shopping in the wrong places. Just because you spend more money on your's doesn't mean it's better, it means we're smarter with our money. 20 years you say? Even my kiddos have been jeeping longer than that.

This is why keeping your indicator/blinker fluid topped up is so vital during the summer. If you run out of crank sensor coolant on a hot day, far from home, you simply pop an indicator out, remove the bulb holder and hey presto… both liquids are completely interchangeable and compatible in either application 👍🏻

I had a '90 Geo storm that had a heat soak no start. It had a distributor ignition with a solid state module in the distributor. I drove it to the auto parts store in the heat, went in a bought a can of air conditioning refrigerant. Went out to the car and it would not start. I pierced the can of freon and chilled the suspected module with it, which made it start right up and diagnosed the bad part, which I replaced and permanently fixed the problem. You could carry a can of R-134 in your Cherokee for this, with a valve and hose rigged up to spray it. They have it in cans now with self closing valves that can be stored after partial use. A good blast of freon will chill it faster than scrounging up a bottle of water.

Usually when I manually jump the starter relay it goes. When I crank it over I can feel the asd relay clicking so I don’t think it’s my crank sensor. 04 wj 4.0 with 130k also I drilled a hole in my thermostat and when I replaced my radiator I added a clutch fan along with the factory electric fan. It dropped my average temp by at least 5-7. It used to never move down from 210 when driving or sitting but usually maxed at 212 maybe 215 the most I’ve seen. Now it runs at 205 max. This seemed to help at first but now I’m stumped as to wether it’s a combination of heat soak and something else maybe?
