A modification to rear axle shift rail to use front and rear axles independently of each other. Allows front axle use only in low range for front digs ...and keeps Low-Hi lockout pills intact.
1/14/19 *UPDATE*
After wheeling several times now with this setup I found that on steep inclines the pressure on the rear transfer case gear caused the rear gear selector in the TC to “POP” out of gear since just the ball detent in the shift rail was not enough to hold the pressure of the rear drivetrain to keep it in gear. I then made a lockout lever that kept the shifter in place but with only good to moderate success.
Since I only used this feature one time after several outings and didn’t have the precision tools to do better pill mods for a rear TC gear precise lock , I decided to go back to the stock shift rail with my twin stick for overall safety.
