Awesome Videos! Just bought my old 91 YJ back after selling it 5 years ago, this is one of many things I need to do. Thank you for posting this and giving all of us and I confidence to tackle the project. Much love!!

I just bought my first Jeep, a YJ, on the cheap. Floor pan replacement is one of many projects. I attend YT university often as I do most everything around home and shop myself BUT this is the FIRST TIME I have ever sat through an entire 1 hr video. Great job holding my attention and staying informative. Thanks!

Nice job. I don’t envy you. I grew up on the East coast where the winters eat cars lol. I once did the pans in my 72 Beetle parked out at the curb. I still have nightmares over it 😂. FWIW those supports under the pans are called torque boxes. Congrats on completing the project.

Just a FYI. Most of these auto replacement sheet metal pieces are from worn out dies that have been disposed of by the manufacturer and bought by asian companies, and that is why there is always small alignment issues. Fenders are the worse because not many align with the bolt holes.

Great video ! Your seam seal job on the passenger side looked a lot better than the driver's side. I'm guessing you were ready to be done with it by the time you did the driver's side. LOL

Can the old panel be cut out a bit smaller and then lap joint weld the new panel over that or is that a big no no? It seems like it would be easier to weld that way and fitment would be easier too. No one will see it anyway once it's painted with carpet and floor mats over. This is a great video, and I will be doing mine soon too. Thanks!

Yea you can certainly lap joint weld it. That will be plenty strong enough.

Another welding tip....test weld some scrap pieces before welding your projects. That way you can get your heat and wire speed dialed in better.

Let me guess - retired state union employee ? Two speeds - slow and dead stop - this vid should be 6.25 minutes - spice it up - this ain’t no clam bake.
