Cool project! I had a ZJ which I had to do just about everything to that driver's door: half the wires on either side of the connector were broken, the speaker was blown, the window switch had cracked solder joints (couldn't open the switch to repair it so had to cut the back off) and door panel was wasted so I had to replace that too. Was quite a Saturday.

FYI. That little hole give you access to a hex nut that adjusts how much you have to press the door handle button before it opens/unlatched. Nice video.. my 5.9zj has the same issue, broken welds.. hinge pins sagging and the door latch cracked off the door itself. So when i drive and lean on the door when i turn the interior ligjts come on and my VIC beeps telling me door ajar .. and my locks auto lock again hah Thabkfully i can weld ao ill just weld it back on the door. And weld the hinges back on. I bought some HELP section door pings.. didnt know they had ones like yours. So im not sure how well the cheap HELP one will hold. Tbh i almost thought of just going to the junkyard . Finding two good doors.. and cutting the hinges off.. and welding them to my zj.. might be faster to do that. ZJ doors are deff a downgrade from the wagoneers they were ment to replace. Wagoneer doors are thick and heavy as hell and the hinges are way better. Not sure how you mansged to cut the pins out eithout cutting into the door.. mine is cutting into the door it just wont fit right

@@ProjectDanH already cut the door haha.. but i can weld easy so ill weld grind it repaint inside etc. My 4 and 3 inch cutting wheels cant cut the pins without cutting the door.. its impossible. It must be your grinder and its head or locking nut are smaller than mine allowing more room. I cit the pins off in the middle with my dremel after lol took forever but it worked better... Btw did you kit last ? The doorman ones bushings are BRONZE not even brass.. and they fall apart for everyone. So i wanna do it once and done. Almost debating on trying to find hinges in the junkyard and cutting it entirely off and welding it on my door seeing how these crappy kits kits have bronze soft metal bushings

Dan, you’ve got a ton of experience with both platforms, so I wanted to ask you-if you had to choose just one to keep, and the other to never own again, would you choose the XJ or ZJ? I’ve only had Cherokee’s, and I feel like the creature comforts of the Grand Cherokee are calling my name. Four coils, V8, rear disc breaks, comfier seats, sunroof, nicer interior… but the transmissions make me nervous. What do you think? Is the grass greener?

And regarding the ZJ’s, what are your thoughts on the 93-95’s vs the 96-98’s? I like the exterior design of the earlier models better, but the redesigned years seem to have more up to date technology and from what I hear, are a bit more reliable? Would love to know your thoughts!

Wow Brother, LOADED question!!! I absolutely love my 98 ZJ 4.0 reliable, drives great, smoooooth compared to an XJ... however Id choose the XJ over the ZJ any day. @@Ulford Basic laws of scince. 1. The law of conservation of mass - The principle of mass conservation states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy, the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as the system's mass cannot change, so quantity can neither be added nor be removed. Therefore, the quantity of mass is conserved over time. The law implies that mass can neither be created nor destroyed. This means that everything in this universe was created all at once at the same time. 2. 2nd law of thermodynamics - Entropy increases over time. A thermodynamic quantity representing the unavailability of a system's thermal energy for conversion into mechanical work, often interpreted as the degree of disorder or randomness in the system. Therefore, If no more matter and energy can be created, and if the second law of thermodynamics says that entropy always increases with time, That means that SOMETHING created the universe in all complexity at one piont in time and it did not evolve from a less complex system. Simple science. So ask yourself, would you create something extremely detailed and complex out of hate? the anwer is no. Things are created out of love. Therefore the entity from which all things were created loves his creation.... including you! God bless 💪
