@@fishingcc9588 yes. I replaced my OEM trackbar. The Synergy is much more durable and isn’t held together with a pinch unlike the factory. I’ve also since replaced my LCA’s with the factory LCA’s that are 1/4” longer from the 2” factory lift kit. They are dirt cheap and increase your camber to the range they should be if your Jeep came from factory with 33” tires.

Great videos!! Only thing I would say is I would always use the torque wrench when ever possible on the nut side with your fasteners. The friction loss of the bolt through the brackets and ends can result in you not torqueing things down to the proper torque value.. for example if there is 15lbs of friction between the bolt, bracket and track bar end that nut is seeing 15 lbs less on its side.. I love your videos and how you take the time to explain everything, but one thing I've noticed is when you're tightening bolts with the impact then going back with a torque wrench to torque them to spec a lot of times it looks like the torque wrench clicks right away. That means it was most likely tightened beyond the desired torque with the impact and going back with a torque wrench only proves that. I know with a lot of these parts being over torque doesn't really make a difference, but on some it really does.

I just installed Teraflex 2.5” lift kit on my JK Rubicon 2016 & notice my axels both front n back were pushed towards the driver side by .5” at the front n about 3/4” at rear axle. Just ordered RC adjustable front and rear track bar to recenter my axels. My question is when I line up the old track bar with the new, am I subjecting the extra .5” off so the new bar is .5” shorter than the old bar or measure eye to eye old vs new install it then adjust it afterwards to center the axels. I was a bit confused with that info in the video cos yours wasn’t too bad off center that would require you to adjust the bar. Any info on how to adjust the new track bars to get them to center again would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏾🙏🏾.

You want to make your track bars a bit longer to correct your axle position at ride height. I should note, this position will ALWAYS change depending on how much weight you have or don't have in your Jeep and it being off a bit is no big deal.

Ok I get why you turned the steering wheel to align the holes for putting the bolt in, but in doing so you now misaligned the steering wheel slightly. Suggestion first before removing anything mark tire positions on ground, if you're really OCD you can measure the distance inside from tires (this is if you don't have any alignment issues already), next do everything exactly the same way until you get to the point of turning the steering wheel to align the holes for bolt, instead adjust the bar by turning the nut either to extend or retract to align the holes to except the bolt, making sure you haven't bumped a tire out of position to the previous marks you made earlier (if your OCD kicked in remeasur the inner wheel to wheel measurement to verify exact match) continue with the rest of the installation as was demonstrated. *Note steering wheel position should be centered before doing repairs. If you follow my suggested procedure everything should be perfectly aligned as well as your previous alignment, WITH the exception that if your other bar or bushing is excessive worn, in which case then you should have a alignment done by a good alignment shop. I hope this helps! This tip is from semi truck steering repair/replacement that is common practice.

@@wayalife I can believe that. I only mentioned it because in your closing statements you suggested that the steering wheel could be off center & upon your measurements you stated it was off just a little 1/16th I believe, but still within tolerances, just watch for slight tire wear if it toed in little. Wasn't trying to criticize, just trying to be helpful.

@@mtoddvan The toe did not and would not change with the installation of a new track bar. When installing a new adjustable track bar, your steering wheel would be off IF it were set differently than before. This would apply to someone who just installed a lift kit. Not sure why you would say that. All you need to do is set your track bar so that your axle is centered at ride height and you're done. Caster will not have changed, toe will not have changed and camber cannot be adjusted on a solid front axle. All a shop will do is charge you to do nothing.

Thanks for the great video. I'm trying to install a mopar 2" lift kit on my gladiator, but the mopar 2" kit doesn't include adjustable track bars. Is it mandatory to add the adjustable track bars?

2" is still within stock spec and the axle shift at ride height will be minimal. It will not affect your ride or handling.

First off, do you still have the aluminum steering box? If so, there is a TSB to have it replaced with an iron one. 2nd, what other modifications have you made on your Jeep if any? 3rd, have you made sure that your factory track bar bolts are tightened to torque spec? 4th, are you still running your factory steering stabilizer? That said, I would probably have to go with the Synergy track bar if only because making adjustments on it is easier. That said, I think this made more of a difference in tightening things up kzitem.info/news/bejne/s5merIZ9hIKKaYY

I’m running the Mopar 2” lift with 35’s and the stock stabilizer. I’m getting the balance and alignment checked now. Once I get it back I’ll do a thorough check on the front end and tighten things down as needed and take a test drive and go from there. Thanks for the quick response! @wayalife

Both use dual durometer bushings and both are solid track bars. I wouldn't hesitate to run either. The Synergy one is just better in that it comes with their double adjuster sleeve and pinch bolt. This is better than a jam nut but once you get things set, you really won't need to play around with it much after.

Hey Eddie, I appreciate the videos- after talking to you last week about the steering (SS vs. Synergy) I decided to order the full set through Synergy including track bar bracket. Super excited, just having to wait 6-8 weeks for production... I was curious, when installing the track bar how do you know what to adjust your bar too w/ a lift. I have the 2.5 AEV lift currently but still have the factory track bar. Do I just match the measurements as is or do I need to adjust? I appreciate the feedback-

I love these install videos and how clearly you explain everything. Keep up the great work, sir! I do have a quick newbie question: If I were to get a base Sport JL or JT, how much would it cost, roughly, to make it like your JL or JT? (Lift, new axles, etc.)
@wayalife

Our JL and JT built are built totally different. Assuming you are wanting to run 40's like we are on our JT, you'd be looking at about $30-$50k in mods depending on what all you do.

I am curious why you still have the OEM Mopar Steering Damper/Stabilizer? Seems like there is a better after-market option. My 2019 Jeep Sahara has a warranty extension on that part for 8yrs 90k miles and I just had that replaced with the OEM part at the dealer but will replace that in the future with an after-market one day.
@wayalife
18 күн бұрын
I am curious why you think that a better steering stabilizer is needed or that an aftermarket option would somehow be better? From personal experience testing out a myriad of stabilizers, I can tell you that most are in fact, not any better and if anything, a lot of them cause problems such as pushing which leads to drifting or are just flat our worse and allow for wobbling. But then, that's just what I've seen.

@@wayalife I do not know. I guess I watch too many videos with all the different after-market options for all the front end parts. That is why I asked. Hello I have a 2020 Jeep gladiator with a RC 6” lift witch came with a trac bar relocated bracket after a few days of the lift I when ahead and bought a rubicon express adjustable trac bar to 6” I had the shop installed it but they didn’t remove the relocation bracket it witch has me thinking what’s the purpose of ajustable trac bar if the relocation bracket is still being used any info on that thanks
@wayalife
3 жыл бұрын
For the most part, all you really need is a track bar relocation bracket as it will help to re-center your axle after installing a lift but it will ALSO get your track bar to sit more level with your axle just like factory and that will help with handling. An adjustable track bar will just allow you to re-center your axle and nothing more. Because most lifts yield more lift than what is advertised, some additional re-centering may be desired and that's where it would come in handy but it's really not critical.
@kstack34

Sorry, im a little new to jeeps but love your videos. Your axle was centered so no adjustment nessasary, but how would you adjust to center if it were off by a half inch or so? do you have to jack the front end and turn the nut?
@wayalife
4 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't even need to jack the front end up. You would loosen the pinch bolt, turn the adjuster with a wrench and then, when you get your axle where you want it to be, tighten up the pinch nut again. :)

Unless your kit comes with adjustable control arms and track bar, the only thing an alignment shop can do is charge you to recenter your steering wheel. IF you have adjustable components, they can reposition your front axle and add in more caster if you feel the need for it.
