Ozark St Francis Natl Forest is my goto playground living in southern MO. Tons of great trails to explore but private property is dotted throughout the area so you have to plan accordingly lest you get met with a guy and his gun protecting "his road". @@Berserkeroffroad KO3s??? You mean KM3s? Just out of curiosity, what makes KO2s better than the Duratracs that seem to be more aggressive in terms of tread pattern?
@Berserkeroffroad
6 жыл бұрын
Yep- my mistake! I meant KM3. The KO2 isn't more aggressive than the Duratrac but I've yet to find a mud hole they couldn't pull me through (partly due to the narrower size I'm running). The KO2 is made of a tougher rubber and is more puncture resistant. I have 30k miles on my KO2's and they're hardly worn.

There's a high probability. Some of the trails are narrow or poorly maintained and are cut through a tunnel of cat claws. Others give you a wide berth. There are enough roads and trails through there that if you get to a spot you don't like, it's easy to find an alternate route and still get where you want to go.

Yea it gets pretty bad. Some trails wander from the MVUM and it's easy to get mixed up and traverse an ATV trail, which are even worse. I've had to accept that scratches are just a part of exploring.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures

Trails that "wander from the MVUM" are also called "Illegal"
@Berserkeroffroad
6 жыл бұрын
You're correct. However some trails were freshly cleared (within weeks or days of us getting there) by the forest service that ran adjacent to previous trails (that were blocked off). The MVUM's weren't updated with the altered trails. We ran into several forest service crews there that said they were updating trails because of severe storm damage. We weren't illegally on trails.
