the first and maybe only 'decent' jkd sparring video i have seen in at least a year

is there a reason behind the relatively 'low' right hand btw?
@TWJKDPoland
7 жыл бұрын
Yes, in the long distance when you are out of the opponent's reach of punches and kicks, the hand is being held that way as it is directly pointed to the centre of the opponent's face it is so called "the gun sight' theory", plus it's outside of the opponent's vision and as Bruce liked to say from that position of the hand I can hit directly with the straight lead to the face or body, hook, backfist or uppercut without changing the positioning of the leading hand or prearrangements of the body from the long distance.

I know it's a JKD thing to emphasize on your lead side, but a sudden rear hand strike works like a charm. Also, attack the body more.
@TWJKDPoland

In JKD rear cross is used in combinations,after feint or as counter punch. Also why should I attack the body more? It's not to attack anywhere, the attack is directed, towards the aim therefore there are primary and secondary attacks. :-)

Very good techniques. But just as Mr Lee had discussed in his books, One should pay full attention to training his body first and training his techniques second. The JKD techniques and very simple actually. One just has to train very hard to execute them faster and stronger.

Your school should have a joint workout with the guys in Korea. I think they train under Patrick Chan. I believe it will be awesome. Your teams are both on point.

Do you ever spar other artists training as long or longer than you? If so, I would love to see how you fight against them. Your movements are crisp and correct, I can tell Ted Wong was a huge influence.

Thank you,indeed Sifu Ted is THE MAIN INFLUENCE as we practise Ted Wong JKD. I am honoured be authorized to teach TWJKD in Poland as the only person in my country.. :-) We do sparr with other people from other styles as a matter of fact everyone who is willing to do saprring, although sometimes they don't want to be recorded or don't feel comfortable with that. If you ever come to Poland and want to come for sparring, no problem. :-) This video purpose was to prove that Authentic teachings of Bruce Leeas taught to Sifu Ted Wong are efficient and effective and that we do sparr full contact in TWJKD. Here in Poland there are only "concepts" schools so lots of people don't know what JKD really look like, it is our job to introduce Authentic JKD, here in Poland.

I appreciate your reply. I am in the United States and in the Ted Wong Lineage myself. If you ever have other sparring videos of other artists the same caliber. Please write me, we can exchange Face Book's.

My main Sifu, Darin Waugh studied with Thomas Keplar, Jesse Glover, Joe Lewis, Ted Wong, Howard Williams... Larry Hartsell. I just naturally like what Ted taught more.

@MichalPolandJFJKD I believe you are referring to Jun Fan Gung Fu, that is different from JKD
@TWJKDPoland
7 жыл бұрын
I was referring to JKD not Jun Fan Gung Fu. Yes I know that Jun Fan Gung Fu was different than JKD. ;-) Jun Fan Gung fu was wing chun oriented and there are some major differences in the biomechanics of the techniques, including the differences between the by jong stance and the on guard stance to start with.
