Jeff Beck replaced Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds. He had been recommended by Jimmy Page who eventually joined him in that band. If you go through Beck’s catalog you will find all different genres of music from 50’s guitar through blues rock and jazz.. one of the most innovative guitarists to come out of the 1960’s rock scene

Elton John has told the story of just before he broke big in America in 1970 - Jeff Beck approaching him about joining his band. Imagine what that would have been like! Elton tells when they were having a meeting about it and the salary Elton would make in Jeff's band his head started to spin because he had never that kind of money before. But then I believe it was the president of his record label said in six months time Elton will be making more than that in a single night. And Elton thought, say what?! And as history has proven it turned out be exactly correct. But still, it would have been great to hear how musically they would have worked out together.....

Besides skill what makes Jeff stand out is he has a very unique style of playing. Check out big block live. With his strumming hand, he straddles the whammy bar in his palm and has his guitars made special so he can adjust his volume as he’s strumming and using the whammy. His volume is right under his strings. Pretty cool to see live 😁 You should also try The Greyboy Allstars. They have a whole family of bands n you’d dig it all n it’d lead you to others. The sax/flute/singer also has Karl Denson’s tiny universe, keys Robert Walters 20th congress and bass medeski Martin n wood. Trust me brotha. You need to know these bands!! Lol

I know, off hand, only one other reaction channel doing any Jeff Beck. When I first heard Jeff beck, at a party in high school, it totally opened up the world of jazz fusion to me. I was completely blown away by Beck. His entire catalog is a goldmine. I used to play percussion/drums, and the drumming in Beck's recordings is par excellence. Every musician on his recordings are tops in the business. You just cannot go wrong with Jeff Beck. And seeing him live, if you ever get the chance is a religious experience.

I’ve had Jeff Beck’s Wired album for many decades. It has been played so much I’m not sure there’s any music left on it. I originally purchased this in the album form and later branched out into cassette. Jeff Beck has always been alone in his own category. Just.like Hendrix. Thank you for this. You may wish to check out Jeff on the Stevie Wonder song "Looking for Another Pure Love" from the album "Talking Book." Also, not everyone knows Stevie wrote the song "Superstition" for Jeff, but decided to record it himself when Jeff got in an automobile accident before having the chance to commit it to vinyl. Stevie realized what a monster hit he could--and DID--have with it, while Jeff himself would later record it to somewhat less fanfare, let's just say. Anyway, a little music history for you if you're interested. Thanks again.
