Met him a few times at shows, a nicer guy you couldn't ask to meet and totally modest in regard to his talent. Taken from us way too soon, I'm just happy that we still have things like this so he'll never be forgotten and future generations can see what talent looks like and discover the joy he brought to so many. You can hear what a great sense of humor he really had here, and that smile, RIP Jeff, you're sorely missed. Thanks to whoever posted this, I cried but they were sort of happy tears.

To all the people who don't know, Jeff Healey was blind, he sang and played the guitar in his own unique way, there are more blind people in history who played the guitar but Jeff was the most outstanding, Jeff was a virtuoso guitar player, thanks for sharing.
@alzinn8231

Nzinn73 Actually there is a guy named Rory Hoffman who plays like Jeff and is blind who In my opinion is just as good as Jeff, although he plays reverse strung and left handed. I would say Jeff is a better singer than Rory, and Rory plays a large number of other instruments like saxophone, piano Jeff's style is more rock and blues, Rory plays a lot of Jazz and country, as well as other styles. I know Jeff also played trumpe. Both are virtuoso musicians.

An incredible, blind, blues musician and with a great singing voice that did what many of his peers could not, reach #5 on Billboard with his ballad "Angel Eyes". During the peak of his popularity, he appeared in the movie "Roadhouse" and had a very loyal fanbase, especially in his home of Canada. If you're watching this video, I'm most likely preaching to the choir, but Jeff was representing the blues with a group of rising young guitarists like Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, and many others. I only had the chance to see him once live and won't forget it. He left us still in his prime...way too soon!

this is how i learned to play guitar when i was like 8 and it was just my way back then learning metallica riffs from my uncle. Now im 28 and play the normal way but it's crazy how far I could've progressed like this guy if i would've stuck to my way and not let my cousin and uncle dissuade me out of guitar back then because of the funny way I played.

Definitely re-ranked by top guitarist list after seeing him.

The guitar roadie had a hard time here!!! But the concert is outstanding. Jeff is unparallelled in playing style on the guitar with his finger on top. And also in terms of improvisation melody lines. A true master! He has some good slow songs, but his blues feeling is his legacy.

He actually came into the spotlight in the mid to late 80s in Toronto's jam scene. Extraordinary guitarist, a fkn monster, actually, imho, a strong, emotive vocalist a damn good cornetist, if I've got that right. The single time I saw him he was sitting in with new blues-pop/rock belter Amanda Marshall as she premiered with her new band at Grossman's Tavern. It was Jeff's birthday, he was having a blast, everybody played their asses off. He was wearing a t-shirt with a cartoon dog on a seeing-eye harness staring down an open manhole and chewing his nails.
