I saw Tupelo many times, including their last show. So nice to hear this stripped down version.

To me UT was like those quintessential pioneer bands of rocknroll like The Yardbirds,Free in the same way the band spawned such one in a million talented multimusicians who went on to formed breakthrough bands that stayed true to their toots and genre without much compromising to suits mainstream audience

Brilliant. Thank you for posting. I was at a Tweedy (band) show in Detroit in 2014, I believe it was 2014, and Jeff played the most intense, fast, passionate acoustic version of “Gun.” Can’t find a recording anywhere.

Love Jeff. But If you were a fan of UT when they were together - which truthfully eliminates the vast majority of his & Wilco’s fan base of today - and you were being honest, if told both he and Jay were eventually going to break up & start their own projects, while it was obvious both guys were tremendously talented, you never would’ve projected Tweedy would become the more commercially successful of the two. But 30 years later, here we are. Anyway, regardless of the present, they’re a legendary band from so long ago now that they certainly could’ve been in one of the favorite bands of your current favorite band’s favorite band.

When I saw the first Wilco show in Portland he played this as an acoustic medley with Tom Petty's "Listen To Her Heart".

I always thought the line was "so don't bother me, it don't matter."
