This is known as the Dramatic Irony song in the musical. It is used to establish a sense of triumph before tragedy. The calm before the Storm , if you see it that way.

Stunning. Such power, rock-solid voice control, impeccable timing and diction. Wow! I especially like the way Cuccioli creates the 'a' sound in 'mo-mant', which allows him to give so much resonance in his voice that would be possible singing 'mo-ment'...great technique!

Abso-friggin-lutely fantastic. He's the only actor I've ever seen that's managed to convey the fact that Jekyll might be a little scared of what he's about to do despite all his excitement. And his understated movements are so appreciated after the circus performance David Hasselhoff put on.

When I lived in the city I was 6 blocks from this theater and I would buy last minute tickets to shows. 20 bucks for last minute seat. I saw this one night. Easy to get a single seat. I was taken at this song. The entire next year I went every week. Him and Linda Eder were magical. I was in my 20’s. Single and it was just east to grab a ticket at last minute. One night after the show I went to grab a slice of pizza. And he walked in. I told him how amazing he was. He asked if anyone was sitting in my booth. I said no. He sat signed a napkin and playbill. The nicest guy. Humble. Kind. And I will forever remember this show. Was so lucky to see him. None of the others that filled in for him Had his magic.

This is the moment This is the day When I send all my doubts and demons on their way Every endeavor I have made ever Is coming into play, is here and now today. This is the moment, this is the time When the momentum and the moment are in rhyme Give me this moment, this precious chance; I'll gather up my past and make some sense at last. This is the moment, when all I've done When all the dreaming, scheming and screaming become one. This is the day, see it sparkle and shine when all I've live for becomes mine For all these years, I've faced the world alone, and now the time has come to prove to them I've made it on my own This is the moment, My final test, Destiny beckoned, I never reckoned second best I won't look down, I must not fall; This is the moment, the sweetest moment of them all This is the moment damn all the odds This day or never, I'll sit forever with the Gods, When I look back, I will always recall, Moment for moment...
