Its incredible to me how anime fans loathed how much they were outcast for years and ignored by mainstream industry in the states but now that the mainstream has embraced them they somehow now loathe how popular anime is. Stuff like this is awesome and its long past time American cartoons did fun gags like this. Embrace it. Don't fight against the changing landscape just to keep some fake semblance of elitism. Anime in the modern day is no longer niche, it is pretty widespread amongst younger audiences so they'll love this.
@TheAce736

@spiritpyros
2 жыл бұрын
@@toons8744 I don't think he was talking about the reference that this video made I think he was talking about the fact that when something becomes more popular alot of the time more of it gets produced often at the expense of it's quality , in this case with anime becoming more popular more animes get produced and the animes that get worked of more often are the ones that at the end of the day appeal to the biggest crowd like Isekai for example rather then the ones with the highest quality anime. Back before anime got popular and was still a niche thing while many people wanted to see anime noticed more so they can show others the wonders of anime and how it's different to western cartoons for example there was most certainly a quiet minority that were content with anime's niche status feeling that in it's then current state while less anime were being made they were at the very least unique with many of them being very well made high quality pieces of art.Now the once quiet enjoyers of anime who were satisfied with relatively unknown anime medium are speaking up for a variety of reasons like concerns over quality, the reputation certain shows bring regardless of quality, complaints from people who don't understand and continue to fail at understanding them. Now anime and manga unlike alot of other mediums depending on whom you ask seems to have faired alot better then other creative works that are in the popular spotlight like perhaps western comics thanks to the way Japan's culture functions and what they value that is not to say the popularity hasn't helped in many ways like for example showing how appreciated anime and manga are thought the world or showing the various hardships and shortcoming are in the industry. I say this to try and explain why some people bemoan anime's newfound popularity while recognizing that the new found notoriety isn't all bad or all good for anything
@toons8744
2 жыл бұрын
@@spiritpyros i get that, but also at the same time, there have ways been trash anime and there have always been trash comic books, it was just there was no uproar about such things and no one talked about them anyway. A lot of folks will pretend like in the old days it was all good but is that really accurate? As a comic fan I can tell you there were plenty of bad comics even before the modern age and there are actually some really solid ones still running. Sure the increased popularity has led to more bad ones but its also led to more scrutiny when can give off a false sense of diminishing quality. Idk, its subjective but I think examples like this video is an example of what we want to see, which is just a fun reference and there's still a lot of good stuff to look forward to and consume
