He was never going to do that, because he wanted to insure he won, so he stayed within his lock of 1st. $3,268, so I guess he tried to throw his first game with a small bid, huh? That seems to be the consensus on his last game, given the fact that $1,399 that he bid was $1 less than the lock amount he had on 2nd, but it wasn't guaranteeing 2nd place that he bid that, it was because he threw it, yeah, that's what so many on here say!
@masterdoge987
2 жыл бұрын
No. Even though Alex’s $18,000 was enough to win on a normal day, it didn’t matter that day because James turned the game into a runaway. James is smart enough to do basic math, and he knew that the difference between Alex’s doubled score and his score at that moment was $4,412. So as long as he wagered no more than $4,411, he would be mathematically guaranteed to win the game. Hope this helped :)

They are both so close in skill that i think they would need to play many many games against each other to really determine who is the best player, since their is a lot of luck in jeopardy. James does have the highest average coryat though which says a lot. Also his final jeopardy accuracy was beyond kens or anyones elses also. I can see how you still think hes better than ken after the last tourney. I personally i find it hard to determine who is actually better.
@bufnyfan1
3 жыл бұрын
@@billj4525 James was a more confident/strategic player--he had no qualms about betting everything on a Daily Double-he also developed the strategy of going after the larger money values on the board first to run up the score and demoralize his opponents early in the game-the only time he lost in regular jeopardy was when he picked a Daily Double on the first choice in the game--as such he could only bet $1000 as he didn't have any money yet

@@michael88h - How many times did you fail grade 5 math? I'll break it down for your simpleton brain: It IS either first or nothing but Emma had him COVERED so he knew this meant EVEN HIS MAX BET WAS IRRELEVANT IF SHE ANSWERED CORRECTLY as it would have been by $1 - Emma at $46801 to James' max of $46800 Emma's wager was predictable unless she was a complete idiot So instead his best mathematical chance of winning was to ensure he didn't get passed by a 3rd place double up and his $1399 bet meant EVEN if he answered WRONG AND 3rd doubled up he had $22001 to 3rds $22000 in a worst case scenario This GUARANTEED him the victory as long as Emma answered WRONG - which like I said was necessary anyways - and removed even the remote chance his own wrong answer would cost him the game - this is a mathematical increase in chances of winning This doesn't mean he was playing for 2nd as your simple mind understands it the final placement was determined by Emma's answer as either Emma , James, Jay or James, Jay, Emma if she answered wrong On his very first game he only wagered about 3K out of his $40K total was he throwing it then? 🤣
