It shouldn't have been this hard to find the original The movie was cool as hell, the sound track even better. But nothing beats the way it was originally recorded and meant to be heard. Even if the quality isn't as good, there's a eerieness and/or vintage asthetic to wax/tape recorded pieces of music that just could never be duplicated again. Nor will the killer ever be duplicated, a truly one of a kind individual! Keep it rockin killer, we love you brother.

Great to hear the mono mix of 'I'm On Fire'.I've got to track it down! The 60's reverb wash is great too.The Organ and Bv's are indeed not so prominent on this version as someone (maybe you!) suggested.A mono mix album of Jerry's Smash years would be great to get.Mind you I think I've got them on the Philips label.

The vocals are excellent, the energy is wonderful, and it's typical of the Lewis recipe -- but, it wasn't a hit because of 3 reasons: it's contrived, the Beatles came, and Smash Records didn't know what to do with Jerry Lee. No promotion. It's a shame because it had possibilities but in 1964 that wasn't enough.
