It's playing the striped tie as a guitar that gets me, that's so imaginative, and his quirky, self consciously dorky performance. I blooming well love his comedies, he's surreal, inventive, fresh and psychological, stuff the naysayers.

elvis presley I’m sorry, but I’m afraid I can’t agree with you. Jerry is 38 years old here, and still playing the same gormless idiot he did when he first teamed up with Dean twenty years earlier. I know that there are many people who will disagree with me, and that’s fair enough, but I have to say that I just find this embarrassing. By this time Dean had already moved on to appear in such critically acclaimed dramas as The Young Lions (with the heavyweights Montgomery Clift and Marlon Brando, no less), Some Came Running and Rio Bravo (with John Wayne), and the following year (1965) would star in his own long-running TV Variety Show, which would have many of the top stars in Hollywood clamouring to be his guests over its 9 year run. But Jerry was still stuck with basically the same pathetic childish character he had played since he was was a teenager.

Linda Shelley, You are so funny! Get over it! He was a genius and that's why he is remembered by many as a legend! Why keep watching Jerry's stuff if you don't like him?? Can You answer that? It's irritating, but I don't like to insult others. You like Dean. I got it! So??? Plus, after so long when people remember a clown, a funny man, they talk about Jerry Lewis as an icon, but definitely they don't mention Dean Martin ahahahah. Dean Martin was funny for many and for me as well, but he is remembered more as a very good singer and actor. About tv shows, Jerry ran the telethon for YEARS with lots of guests while helping less fortunate kids!!!! LOL Anyway, Dean and Jerry are two different actors . Jerry was a clown, a character. He represented the human condition, the tragedy and the comedy! He was a mask, actually many masks and many faces! Dean was a different type of actor so WHAT THE HELL are you talking about???!!!! If you don't like Jerry, don't watch him! I don't get it! You comment every video of him!!! That is VERY WEIRD! Lol

@modoc97405

@@ltcolumbo9708 Really? The mommy’s basement old line? Much of Jerry Lewis’s work is of it’s time and is simply no longer funny. You are entitled to your opinion however. And I am an adult with two college degree who owns a house and a rental, and I ran track and cross country in college. I’m not exactly sitting in “mommy’s basement” 🙄
@modoc97405

@@ltcolumbo9708 Some of his work is still funny, but much of it is just him making funny faces and goofy voices and acting like a clown. That’s obviously your idea of taste and talent, but I disagree. There are far more talented comedians and comedic actors today than Jerry Lewis.
@ltcolumbo9708

@modoc97405 There are 6 Silent Theatres that still plays Chaplin, Keaton and Harold Llyod movies in my city. Same theatres that has annual Jerry Lewis festival for the diehards. Why is it a challenge to accept people who found it entertaining and funny back then are as much entertaining and funny today? Befuddlement abounds. There's more than Jerry making funny faces and voices that people still bother to leave their house to watch it in the theatres. It's your narrow opinion if Jerry don't float your boat. In my day, I was a State 110m hurdler. What the heck are you talking about! To add credibility? Lol. Google Cory McGee. I'm the male version of her career kiddo. I've competed all over the world. Amazing how her middle distance running mirrors my accomplishments in the 110m. Yeah I own a house and rent out my duplex. So? How does that help me find Jerry Lewis funny? Here's another for you: I graduated from UCLA Film school. And a month later I was working on The Nutty Professor with Eddie and Chapelle at UCLA grounds for a full month before moving to Universal to film all the interiors. Hmm do I know funny? Worked with Ben Stiller, George Lopez, Jay Mohr, Kevin Hart etc just to name stand-up comics... not funny actors. I have dropped comments here and there in all my movies clips posted by other people on KZitem. Funny is funny. Does not carry an expiration date
