Although, if that was real life, a good portion of these grown ass women wouldn't agree with that and some (that maybe were also bullied in this club) would even find the courage to walk away and befriend Celia. This scene made me travel back in time about 30 years, to halloween. Me and two friends went trick or treating for fun, for a few hours, and when we were finishing, one of them said "lets go to my house". When we were arriving at his place, both of them started running like crazy, got inside, closed the door and locked it. I didn't know what was going on, but I thought it was some kind of funny prank and stayed there for a while, looking at them, knocking on the glass door asking "will you let me in?". After 20 minutes, my smile started fading away, and a humiliation feeling took over me, while I was standing outside in the cold, and they were inside, looking at me, laughing. I turned around, and walked home. A lot things we see in movies, are no fiction... it's mirrors what lots of people go through in real life.

This is so horrible. And tbh Celia was the adult of them all, she was above them all without even trying to be. From the host, who had the mindset of a child, needing to control all the women in the town to feel important. To the grown women in the party that really listened to her and hid in plain sight like children. I know those women had to have gone home afterwards and beat themselves up inside for allowing that woman to have such power over them, whatever she did to help them out money or status wise. In the end, Celia has already won. She’s got the man, the house, a TRUE friend, and a beautiful heart.

It's because they fear her. They know she's capable of making life really hard for them. She made Celia a social pariah. If more people stood up to her like Skeeter did, she wouldn't be so high and mighty. A leader is nothing without her followers.

It sickens me for them to treat her this way. Yes, she is a little bit silly. But, she's sweet too tho. She's a good person that means we'll. I hate seeing her treated wrong.

Well, as an introvert I would have been sad until I realized I would not have to sit there and make small talk. Those women are boring. Minnie is more fun to talk to. You have Minnie's chocolate pie without the special addition. Introvert win.

This is the 1st of two scenes in this movie that shows how childish Hilly is.
