Apparently, the lead animator, or one of the animators for Jessica Rabbit, envisioned her as asexual, and animated her with that in mind. I really dig that interpretation, and you can kinda see it: Despite being overtly sexual in her manner, she doesn't really exhibit any sexual interest in other characters (aside from one side joke about Roger being "a better lover than a driver"). "You don't know how hard it is to be a woman looking the way I do." "I'm not bad, Eddie. I'm just drawn that way."

The marvellous thing about Jessica Rabbit was that she was sexy but also powerful - she didn't rely on other people and took control of the situation she'd been dealt, like when she followed Doom to Maroon Cartoons to try and stop him, or when she saved Valiant. And of course, who can forget the frying pan and Roger?

The amazing thing is that everyone is only looking at her looks, not realizing that her song is about waiting for a good man who makes good money, someone who’s smart and doesn’t need to scrounge for cash. I find it a really good contrast between her sexual appearance but her devotion and love for a husband who treats her well
@burningphoneix
Жыл бұрын
It's the opposite actually. The song is about a greedy woman who doesn't care about her Husband's troubles and simply wants his money. "Like some other men do" refers to her other lovers who are richer than her man. She's basically chastising her unnamed man for being broke during the Great Depression of all times. The song is meant to show the audience what the people in the film, including Eddie, sees Jessica as: A bad girl just using Roger for his money. When in reality, she is the exact opposite. "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way"

The best thing about Jessica is that the cartoon characters say that she is lucky that she married Roger and to Eddie that sounded the utmost weirdest thing. But the thing is, Cartoons' Beauty isn't about being sexy or hot, rather being Funny... That's why Roger the rabbit is pretty much the Top at being Beautiful. Nice touch from the movie hoenstly.

Leanna Shahbazian He won't be able to give you a good reply, it is a classic "one liner" from trolls to try and get some flaming going. :)

I love Jessica rabbit. I love how she is a powerful woman who gets what she wants and doesn’t care what people say.

What messes with me is that the voice seems so fragile and delicate at first, but then if you keep listening you will hear hints of steel in that voice - this woman means wheat she says when she says 'get out of here' and the other ten thousand insults she included in the song. No doubt this woman can fuck a man up if he doesn't do what she wants him to do ;)
