😳Just watched this fly at the 2023 Duxford summer air show. Amazing plane. The sound of a jet engine when watching a biplane defying gravity is fantastic.

Just saw him displaying at Teignmouth Airshow. This was the most incredible powered aircraft display I’ve ever seen. Nothing comes close. He made the superb Typhoon look sedentary. I’m still in awe of what this aircraft can do.

If it becomes a regular feature on the UK airshow circuit, it would make a refreshing change from the usual stuff we see year in and year out.

Can't wait to see this flying at my local Clacton airshow in the near future. A possible venue for planes TV to live stream also.

Hi. You can see the passion. What a retirement vocation! There will be some loss of forward thrust folks with the engines inclined out which everyone involved will know about of course. If I remember my trigonometry correctly it will not be that much at the angles involved but reducing the angle will gain a bit back It will be very interesting to see the performance once all the certifying authorities are happy with the safety. I'm delighted Planes TV is covering this sort of aspect as well as the flying. It helps appreciate what it really takes to get up there in the air.

I think the fella gets why over here when someone says "Americans are crazy" some of us Europeans just say.... "yeah" and take another zip from the pint....

This concept came to fruition over a decade ago by the late great Jimmy Franklin. He attached a jet engine to the bottom of his highly modified Waco. Did a bunch of air shows with it. Jimmy was the first. And was also American.

On the US airshow circuit, they have a 'Yak 110': basically, two Yak 55s welded together at the wing spars, so that the end result is a 'twin Yak (which they've dubbed the Yak 110) comprising of two cockpits and two propellers. But, they've thrown in extra propulsion in the form of a mounted jet engine, which was salvaged from a Cessna BizJet, if I am not mistaken. I've seen it fly (not in person, but in the youtube videos), and it is a fantastic and unique flying contraption! I plan to visit the US and hopefully see it fly at an airshow.

What a beauty! Would love to see how those engines are rated under high-g manoeuvres the Pitts is capable of!
