We did not use the corner beads. For this reason, we installed the back wall panel first. You do have to be very careful and make exact cuts and sand the edges with an orbital sander to accommodate wall irregularities, so there is no gap in your corners where two walls come together. Even using the corner beads you have very little room for error. We also put up a strip of butyl rubber in each corner to make sure the drywall was protected if the exterior silicone bead in the corner failed. We only used 1/2 a tube of silicone adhesive for each 36 inch panel, applied in the pattern recommended. Used silicone rather than a polyurethane adhesive because you don't need a strong adhesive, the panels are very light, and someday you may want to remove them without ripping holes in the drywall underneath. My complaint with the product is that they do not make a product for a three wall alcove shower, so you have to buy two, two wall sets. The other problem is the color is only on the surface, so any scratches will be obvious. The panels are also very brittle. Two sets of the four we received were broken in transport, and had to be reordered. We had one cut wall panel propped up inside the shower and the top fell to the opposite shower wall and broke the panel in half, so handle with care. Otherwise the product is easy for two people to install and looks great! Surprisingly, it does not look cheap or plasticy at all and I am very happy with it. Nice video.

@@joesmith9053 well, it's been a couple years of daily use now, and the silicone is working just fine. I realize it is not an adhesive but seems to be working fine for this application. 😊

Hello. Thank you for the video. I have an old tile shower I'm replacing. Doing this or a stud to wall insert. Did you do any kind of water sealing on the bottom?

My wife caulked the bottom of the wall to the shower tub and the corners of the wall. Any sealing is a good idea so you don’t water damage anything and you won’t be doing this again!

@@mrschristina1988 the panel sits inside the lip of your prefab fiberglass shower pan. If the pan were to fill with water - disaster. So I ran a bead of silicone along the bottom.

I am a little nervous about using the tape. Is it possible to move a panel once you put it on. Concerned if it’s not straight or needs slight adjustment. Will the tape stick too much?

The tape will not move once it is pressed in place, but the adhesive that you apply to the back of the panels is thicker than the tape so it will allow you to make small adjustments before pressing the panels down.

So my question is... why are there no shelves??? And are you able to cut niches into these? Obviously youd need some sort of edging but is it possible?

My wife uses the sticky applications for baskets and such. Different brands have shelves but also different prices. Good luck!

You could easily cut a niche for a recessed solid surface shower caddy (such as those made by Transolid) as long as you know where the studs are. Everything is sealed with silicone.

@@amandadiane07 I bought a pre manufactured niche and installed it by cutting a hole in the panel and the drywall between the studs. The bottom of the niche rested on a cross member previously installed for this purpose between the studs. I did use construction adhesive to install the niche to the studs.
