I was brought up Seventh day Adventist and my father was very legalistic and abusive. My mom became atheist. I married a Mormon and then went into the new age stuff. God miraculously saved me but when I was first saved I was so afraid that I had to return to SDA, and my mom thought I would become crazy like my dad (whom she had divorced by that time). The Lord showed me that His way moved forward not backward, but I struggled with legalism vs. grace for years. Thank you for this sweet testimony. ❤🙏

I'm also a SDA member and teacher. We need to ask God to teach us how to keep the Law (all the Law not only the 10 commandments). We are not born with this. We are born in the flesh and the flesh only wants to avoid pain and seek pleasure, like any baby or toddler. Morality comes after we learn to think and judge. By his grace, we'll learn how to keep the law as an expression of our love toward him. It takes time and experience. Just a word of advice I'm giving to all my friends in SDA lines: Just keep you nose over the Bible and push away (for a while) all the other books and videos. EGW is a very good help at start (specially for those who came from other churches), but if you really get into the prophecies in the Bible, you see things she never wrote about. Try to get deeper in Ezekiel, for example. It's connected with Revelation and with Moses. Romans 9 to 11 is also a must.

I can relate to Rebecca's testimony. I grew up in a Christian home and I gave my life to Jesus/ Yeshua at a young age. I fell into a mindset of legalism and fear. The Lord took me down a very dark path before I could get out of my crisis of faith. The Lord is faithful, loving and wonderful. He delivered me from all my fears! ❤

Yes, we are saved ONLY by FAITH thru a free gift; GRACE from our Father in Heaven - Ephesians 2:8-9 Also read Romans 10:9-13 - If we believe with all of our inner being that Jesus was the Son of God and that God raised him on the 3rd day from the dead, and speak it, YOU WILL BE SAVED, not that you might be saved or if you do this or if you do that NON_SENSE.. It's only by faith and nothing else.. Jesus himself even stated during the law days, "if you call upon my name, you will be saved" I think around John 6:28-42, etc. or Might be John 8:32 Today we are living in the "Grace age" - Jesus nailed or did away with the Mosaic law when he died on the cross. Col. 2:14 Jesus took every point of the law (death) upon himself on our behalf and those that believes in Jesus and ASKS Jesus to save them will be covered by his blood forever.. All sins are covered forever.. The Abrahamic covenant was an everlasting covenant from God, himself, and Abraham did not have any requirements to meet. Understand the difference

Yeshua COMPLETELY transformed my heart and life. I am a 39 year old Israeli Jewish woman who came to faith in our Messiah Yeshua. In 2014. Jesus, Yeshua revealed Himself to me during a dark and oppressive time in my life. I didn’t know much about Him prior to 2014, but through proclaiming His name, the demons that were tormenting me at the time fled. It was a VERY supernatural experience with The Lord. I was baptized and saved in 2016. The Lord put on my heart to repent, read His word (The Bible), be baptized (water immersion) and turn from all my sins. It was a process and He has been SO gentle and loving through it all!! Thank you Abba for your goodness and for sending Your Son Yeshua to save sinners such as myself and to reconcile us back to you, I am ETERNALLY grateful for Your gift of Salvation.

Thank you. I turned 20 this year and am going through exactly the same thing. I fear so much that I will depart from the narrow path, or that I’m not even on the narrow path. I want to rest in Jesus but know that cheap Grace (license to sin) is far from the Grace and freedom God has given. I don’t want to sin anymore and I want to hate my sin. It feels like I can never truly feel like I’m saved

I have been a Christian since age 12, but it can be a long journey to come to true faith and rest. Holy Spirit was always with me even when I didn't understand that. I am over 60 now. It takes true mindfulness of where your destination is, and finally understand I had not truly given up my Will; Jesus was patient, when I could finally let go and accept God’s Will, I was at peace. Keep reading/studying the Bible and good biblical theology. I like one for Israel for historical information and Dr. Michael Heiser, as well as Ligonier studies. There are others , and I pray that am not led astray by false teachers.

I really found this really interesting and relatable. It sounds like she AND YOU, Rp, may have been going through what people call religious OCD/scrupulosity with the legalism and doubts. It is from the enemy. It's so beautiful how she was given victory over it ruling too much over her, and why she says she still feels like its there in the background. The thing to realize, dear Rebekah AND RP, is that what remains of it is actually just a temptation to rely on yourself/feelings again instead of "resting on the finished work of Christ" like Jeff said. It's a sin you are weak towards, not a benign healthy state to accept about yourself. If you can really grasp this, it will really make you more peaceful and more useful to God, because you spend less time looking inside and more time on looking at Christ and others in need. Much love, Rachel

@Rp-wt7uz Jesus said in John 3:5 : Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. We need to make the decision to fully Surrender to Jesus no matter the cost. We need to Repent and be baptized in water. Baptism is not an “ Outward symbol of an inward faith” , it is part of Salvation, where we burry sin and crucify the Old man. We then put on Christ. Look what Peter says in Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. We can live in freedom from sin. Jesus said whom the Son sets Free is free indeed. Jesus bless you

Me too . I became legalistic, obedience became righteousness. So I lived always falling short until I broke... I said Lord I can't do this.. I can't please you...then He showed me the wonder of His grace... that's right my Son, you can never please me by your obedience, you please me by your faith... now obey me to show you believe me. Finally His peace came upon me and joy began to grow, because as I began to realise I am saved justified by His grace because I believe everything that Jesus said and did , and that Jesus is His only Son. Now obeying Him is my faith , a light burden and easy yoke.

I declined due to my heart condition I had a massive heart attack and I suffer from lupus. I am waitressing now but not making nearly enough to get by. Every month is a battle. I can’t go back to my job at the hospital because mandates are still in place. Jesus help me to overcome my fears. Because as I struggle I am fearful. Struggling to provide for me and my children is scary Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay rent. BUT I trust you Lord. Jesus hear my prayers. I’m so thankful that God has provided this far. As a former Roman Catholic, I had a lot of problems with what you might call "legalism"' - always worried that I was "not good enough". Tried to follow the "rules and regulations" of my religion and always fell short. So I know what Rebekah was talking about. I read a wonderful book called "The Shack" by William Paul Young about once a year, and am a fan of the series, "The Chosen". I've been reading the Bible with a new understanding. Now I finally get it. We cannot get to Heaven on our own merits. We will always fall short, but Yeshua's sacrifice and love for us has redeemed us. Yes, he's truly the Messiah! I've come to realize how infinitely loving God is.

I can tell you from experience.. I was raised around a religious environment by hearing about Jesus Christ. Going to church. Going down and asking for forgiveness. Then not 2 days passes I sin like a sailor.. All this while my parents were professional thieves. They would fight. They cheated on each other. My step dad left us and become a drunk.. My mother would sleep with strangers. etc.... But the kindness of my friends parents. That I would stay with. Showed me the other side of what it means to be a family..And if you stayed over night. You got up on Sunday to go too church..But all that did not help me with being under the law. As that was how I judged myself before God. By my behavior.. Then one day on the way home on a Wednesdays night. God said pull over at this church and go in. I sit in the back and waited for the alter call. I went down and did the normal God forgive me thing we all do. Then as I walked away. He said now come back and get filled with the Holy Spirit.. I turned around and said. I'm here for it all or nothing. They prayed for me and over the next few months God revealed his true self to me. I was never the same since then. As I was no longer bound by the law but understood. That Jesus Christ set me from it. Then I realized what Paul meant in Romans 7:15, For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. We are always captive of Sin in our daily lives. But we have Jesus Christ to carry those Sins for us.. Just help those in need. Do your best to live an upright life. And always be honest with yourselves. As God knows our hearts. It's not hidden from him to start with...Why we needed a redeemer. As the Law can not save us. It just exposes us for whom we are...

There is something else you can do: keep in mind that many of us have already had tangible moments with Jesus, with His angels and ofttimes we do not remember them. We cannot explain what just happened, so we tuck those experiences into our subconscious memory where they remain. Ask in prayer to spontaneously remember. I can relate to much of this, except that I came from what I have coined a "Born again Atheist family." In other words, I was encouraged to dispense of any belief in "Religion." Having gone to Israel with my wife in 2017, I gradually, though quite miraculously accepted Jesus; and this was a revelation in itself. I too wrestle with doubts, fall back into sin, look for tangible signs, but then I am reminded of God's mercy, his patience and his love. I'm also from Australia, so when I went to Israel with my wife, I had no inkling that it would result in my conversion, because the power of a parent's devout atheism ( books by Dawkins were posted to me) can seem, on the surface, to solidify disbelief and offer no salvation or hope. My father, whom I love and whom has since passed, was a non-believer based on much personal pain and suffering he endured over the years. He had retired from being a Deputy Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, and sent me a baseball cap as a "joke", which had F.B.I embroidered on it: " Firm Believer in Jesus." It was the last item he sent me, and the irony is, I have become exactly what he was mocking: a firm believer in Jesus- something he would never have fathomed. My biggest struggle is coming to terms with my father's lack of faith before he passed. Jesus has shown my wife and I sublime beauty and love. If anybody reading this is struggling, know that I too have struggled, but take comfort in knowing that Jesus will never forsake us. Pray for Him to come into your life. Knock, Ask, and he will answer. God bless you all.

Don’t wait to have to fall onto your knees with the world on your shoulders to look to our Lord and accept him 🤍

One of the most interesting aspects of your encounters is the unpredictable discussions. I’m most impressed with how Jeff can detour through discussions with someone who is staunch in his own roots even though Jeff politely unhinges their beliefs. Even the testimonies have so many different levels to them, they’re so beautiful though. It just shows how Christianity as simple as God can deliver it to us, can have such different experiences for each of us. I absolutely LOVE your channel !! God Bless you both and Shalom !! 🙏🏻✝️❤️

Authentic testimony on the struggles of growing in one’s faith. Well done. God initiates the relationship between Himself and humans by revealing Himself to them (Ecclesiastes 3:11; Romans 1:19-20) and lovingly persuading them to come to Him (Romans 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Isaiah 30:18), just as Jesus called the disciples to follow Him (Matthew 4:18-22).
