This has been a pretty insightful discussion. Shows that this is not the only time world went to brink and back from a war which could have made the geopolitical politics go in direction which couldn't have been otherwise envisioned. No Offense to USA, however trying to manage the evil(as per their own perspective) has changed the course of history of many non-aligned nations, which is now more than evident with recent affairs. It probably can be argued that more you try to change world perspective in your favor, more you fuel your enemies, which hurt you even more in the longer run of time.

The discussion itself was very interesting. But, honestly, the video production was a car crash. First, show the images referred to instead of two guys gesticulating at them. Second, the frequent black screens from around minute 21 were really annoying. This would thus have been better as audio only, which is how I consumed it in the end.

We Indians are generally told not to trust America and this country being land of greedy capitalist. But frankly had Nehru been even slightly adept at diplomacy India would be sitting where china is right now economically. But too bad we chose socialistic nonsense over economic progress. In the same breadth I would genuinely thank America for their support in 1962.

Kennedy was definitely the most pro india president ever. This book and video add to our knowledge of the events of that time Oct 1962. This is probably the only event ever where the US and USSR was on the same side...that of India after the end of world war 2!! Although Khrushchev initially supported China during the Soviet Union's hour of crisis namely the Cuban missile crisis expecting Mao's support, once the crisis ended the soviets supported India and made plans to ship Mig21 aircraft to India. TASS described this war as a crisis between "Friendly" India and "Fraternal" China but the split was ready for everyone to see. BTW Kennedy also explored the nuclear option...yes that's how much pro india he was!!

So Pak supported Tibetan covert operations against China! Now they do jehadi training-operations in Xinjiang against China! And China pays Pakistan for this! Maybe China thinks India is far more formidable than the nuisance of Pakistan!

Lol! The only relations Nehru had with the US was with Jackie :) He hadn't kept his womanising characteristics hidden!
