More like 400 years of the Tribe of Canaanite (Blacks) in America. Read the bible. Read the Quran read the Ethiopian bible The Queen Of Sheba And Her Only Son Menyelek. They all say the same thing. Canaanites mark was the black skin. An Ethiopian will tell you straight to your face them and you are a Canaanite. There is not one holy bible in the world African Arabic or American that says black people are from the tribe of Judah. But every single one of them do say the curse of CAIN was black skin.

Funny thing is Black ppl actually think their African American even though they never lived in Africa. In my book, and many other Africans books. African American means you immigrated from Africa to the United States of America. Blacks who claim to be African American that weren't born in Africa are American due to the fact that black ppl born in the States. Same with Asians who claim to be Asian Americans that were born in the states you are American. Same to Hispanics born in the states, and etc. If you were born in the states then you're American no African, Asian or Etc. You can move back if you want cause That is your freedom of choice. I also consider blacks who claim to be African American but, not born in Africa as Racist as Racist White people. Just to let you know not all whites are racist.

All those uninformed black people who denounced Jill Scotts' rendition of the Star Spangle Banner song should google Francis Scott Key's lyrics of that song. He denigrates blacks in the original piece. They should read a book. Also, he and his family owned slaves. Finally, did anybody notice That the writer of the song's middle name is Scott? Which is Jill Scott's last name. Is it possible that Jill Scott is a descendant of one of his slaves?

The countries that had far more slaves than the U.S.A were Brazil and Cuba. I am not saying having less slaves is okay, because having only one is not okay, but to call U.S.A. "home of the slaves," ...not sure if this is okay. It is because of the many, many sacrifices of our "brave" military men and women make to keep this land free that makes U.S.A. "home of the brave." Having my adult children in the military, this version of the "National Anthem," is a blow to my heart and soul.

Peace.. Jill Scott is addressing the atrocities that happened here in the USA. Is it a uncomfortable conversation yes, but it shouldn’t be ignored. Even after slavery was abolished, the ideology didn’t stop. You speak of military. No military went in to help when every black town was burned down by racist white men. Look up Tulsa Oklahoma know as Black Wall Street. When the burning down and killing was happening, the military created a outer perimeter to prevent the violence to spread into the neighboring white neighborhoods. Look up every black town that was burned down in America. The crack epidemic was no accident either. There’s a reason history is not accurate in the school system. That means that people will question what happened. We live what most won’t understand..

Key was not including other than white folk in his "land of free and home of the brave." You also issued an ultimatum,"that if you don't love and respect the "whole human race", you should leave. If everyone on planet earth did follow your advise,first of all,where would billions of humans who live in places that they do not love nor respect the inhumanity,racism,poverty,disenfranchisement,discrimination,injustice etc. Do you unconditionally love all human beings? Do you love unconditionally every human being in this country,or city? Do you love and respect every policy or law of this country? Do you accept every person's freedom of thought and speech? Do you believe that anyone has a right to disagree with you,and to remain right where they are? Do you believe that you don't have to love everything about where you live?Do you believe that you can criticize your country and can stay and fight to improve it? If you can answer yes to all off these questions,you need to question your own " love and respect" for the " whole human race". In addition,if cannot tolerate democratic thought,maybe you need to leave. I don't know where you would go.

@@danielshea518 this is about repairing wrongs. And while we have made advances, it is still a reality that like the days of slavery Black people are still treated like property by some law enforcement officers and by the courts. The prisons are largely populated by Blacks and I was thinking that this was the last two places where we need to seek reform. I thought reparations would have to include reform in the court and policing systems that target Blacks unfairly to Whites. But suddenly we are thrown back into the darkness of hope with the loss of the protection of Affirmative Action. This was a part of the civil rights act to give schools, jobs and property owners incentives to include Blacks and later all minorities into schools, jobs and communities that were White only. With the Supreme Court now deeming Affirmative Action unconstitutional and deeming it legal to deny same sex couples service by service providers discrimination has now been deem ok. So now if a Black is denied entrance into Yale and a White student with the same scores is accepted it is legally okay to discriminate. Now Black folk will have to fight the battle of discrimination all over again. And proving discrimination was not an easy job. And for the Supreme Court to nullify it after only 45 years after 246 years of slavery is totally unfair. I don’t know if you pay attention to the news but the day after Affirmative Action was cancelled four Black women were let go from executive positions saying they were unqualified. I do not know your age but I remember those days when Blacks were denied jobs and a White could come apply behind a Black with the same qualifications and get hired. A White could follow a Black denied housing and get the home for rent or for sale. Excuses were given to Black applicants, but Whites got accepted. So you who choose to allow the battles won by your ancestors to be nullified without a fight May live to regret it. Trayvon Martin is not during slavery. George Floyd is not during slavery. Sandra Bland, add to that now Whites who are not police who kill Blacks and have got away with it. They young man going to pick up his brother knocked on the wrong door. The cheerleader who approached the wrong car. So many White people in this day and time afraid of Blacks just approaching them. Add to that the racism engendered by the Trump MAGA crowds. And now his appointed justices are walking back civil and human rights! Can’t you see that our constitutional protections are being removed that were there because they had to be enforced to be complied with. Can’t you see that? Yes one day they will Not be needed I pray, but is that time now? We could wake up one morning with the 13th amendment rescinded or the 15th if we are not careful. This Supreme Court is changing the rules. And we will be the worser for it. Please fight to keep your rights won by the ancestors. Don’t just give them away and ignore it. Your children’s future is at risk.

@@Mark-gb1cp and Blacks are still getting killed by the police and some White people. The courts are still treating Black defendants differently then Whites. Now you can add discrimination to the list. A young man interviewed the next day said after filling out the paper work for a university they asked him for a resume. The day after Affirmative Action was nullified four Black women executives were removed from their jobs saying they were unqualified. This is how discrimination works in 2023, thanks to Donald Trump and his six Supreme Court unjustices. More injustice’s to come. Watch!

Wow!!! I heard about this rendition of the national anthem and had to listen to it for myself. Although I do agree slavery was horrible and a traffic time in our history I do not agree that this country was built by slaves. I mean slavery ended around 1865. What structures do you know of that are still standing from the 1800’s? Not many if any. This country was built by hard working Americans. White, black, Chinese, emigrants etc…. Just saying

Complete version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" showing spelling and punctuation from Francis Scott Key's manuscript in the Maryland Historical Society collection. O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bomb bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, 'Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In God is our trust," And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

They do not understand the Bible. How blessed am I to be living? And see, the land wasn't, but YAHUSAH he give us eyes to see hear to hear. If people really READ THE BIBLE things they did to man ,try to hide . But if you read it for yourself. . Why did they hang color people on a tree ? It's hidden right in our face was (Jesus) YAHUSAH. We must come out of this world, turn back to keeping YAHUAH Laws, Commandments😇.THANK U SISTER JILL SCOTT ❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏😇🙏

Keep the original. Why? This is another black-only salutation. Doesn't mention or include the multitudes of indentured servants, the people who didn't own slave, the people who died defending others or died to CREATE this nation. Regardless of how it is now, thats what the National Anthem is about, those who died creating something better than what it was. (And dont come at me with they owned slaves, heck, Africans were trading slaves LONG before Europeans showed up, and i never said it was right, either).
@1BLXCR
Жыл бұрын
Why does her rendition bother you so much? Do you actually know the words of the original in context? For FYI , the trans Atlantic Slave Trade was brutal and savage. She’s addressing that. The slavery you’re describing ( In Africa) wasn’t the same.
