Being a Tar Heel fan, a Tar Heel myself, and Catfish Hunter having the same home state- to have that little note with the UNC emblem on it signed by him you shared as an exemplar would be pretty cool!

Great job on Hunter, Frank! As a Catfish collector, I agree 100 percent on those two balls you pointed out as not looking good. I wouldn't touch either of them. You do still find some "old style" catfsh autos on baseball cards, but not very often. Also, sometimes when he rushed (and I'm still not sure if this was all the time or during a specific period) he would have the U in Hunter show up within the middle of the H...almost like a squiggle. Also glad you did a deeper look at his career...he was truly a special pitcher who might have racked up even better numbers if he was used like the pitchers of today. He was Maddux before Maddux.

Hey Frank, big fan of your videos. Quick question I'm hoping you can shed some light on. HOF Umpire Bill McGowan had two dramatically different signatures throughout his life and I've seen both styles authenticated by the TPAs. However, in Ron's book, he talks about some of his letters being secretarially signed. Do you think the TPAs are incorrectly authenticating the secretarially signed signatures or is that a completely separate/third signature style? Thanks for all the work on these videos!

Like your videos. Off topic where can I find information on a Mike Schmidt 1972 baseball bat he gave me as a kid. There is a different model number on the 1973 model handle. He only played a few games in 72 and he pulled it out of a bag of bats when I meet him at a relative's house that off season. The handle has. 1. 94. With A underneath that. And 33 in pencil written on top. Would appreciate any info if not thanks anyhow

I still have a bunch of unpaid handwritten invoices from him on index cards. He would not sign the invoices though - just initial JCH. He always signed for free but I think he got tired of me sending over and over again. He wanted $5 each from me. I would never behave this way now I am an adult.
