The Australian economic model. Focus on increasing corporate profits. Remove or limit citizens access to essential services. Remove the middle class. Close industry or send it overseas. Only rely on what is dug out of the ground. Give gas away then buy it back at a premium. Increase energy prices. Hide all of this with mass immigration. Have I missed anything?

Our economy is facing challenges due to uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and the lingering effects of the pandemic, all contributing to instability. With rising inflation, slow economic growth, and trade disruptions, it's crucial for all sectors to take immediate action to restore stability and promote growth.

It lacks diversity in terms of advanced manufacturing, it is too heavily dependent on commodities and is not growing in productivity, not enough is being spent on R & D and so on and so on. That's not me saying that, it's the OECD. The luck is running out, because we have global competitors that are far lower cost than we are, and yet people keep insisting there's nothing to be concerned about rather than face facts.

I think they're holding off on rate cuts as long as possible because they know they don't even have 5% to play with. At this point, individuals have been in a recession for the last 5 quarters. The broader economy falling into a technical recession for most people is meaningless, as they are already feeling that pain in spite of headline numbers. The biggest risk to individuals of a technical recession now is unemployment rising as a result of a contracting economy. We could offset that, to some extent at least, by reducing immigration, thereby tightening the labour market, reducing demand on housing and cooling inflation.

Constant growth doesn't make sense. It's unsustainable. It seems two things contribute to economic growth. 1. Population growth 2. Productivity to meet demand. There are times when population becomes stagnant (not here) and times when people don't need more stuff or ran out of money to buy stuff. In this case, there is much debt and not enough money. So a recession is needed to balance and restructure the economy.

20 trillion, or about 1/5th of global GDP, was created and added to the global economy in 2021/2022, which accelerated global demand through the stratosphere, as well as debased every currency. The tide and ships and all of that... but most importantly the central banks' interest rate problem was fixed overnight... whatever happened to QE? The entire world experienced a 20% inflation spike, +/-, and since Australia is basically the supplier of raw materials to feed global consumption, all the inflation eventually flows to us, and we end up with an inflation problem for longer than other countries that simply consume.
