1966. Senior Year. Got turned onto these knuckleheads and they are still constantly in my mind. So freaking fun and entertaining AND truly wonderful musicians. Thank you for Being.

I found this group back in the early sixties and still listen to them and Dave Van Ronk's Ragtime Jug Stompers. I miss the washtub bass and where is the jug? It's not jug band music without a jug.

I think I'd have killed to see this had I known about it (and murder be a requisite). Geoff Muldaur's voice still gets me down in my marrow.

This is a treasure. Miss Mel Lyman though. What a great band, for all time. I still listen to their old records, and they are as excellent and fresh as ever. Thanks.

I remember playing Kweskin and The Lovin' Spoonful and my parents saying those were all old songs...Imagine my surprise when I found out about the Memphis Jug Band. Nothing makes me happier than to see Dom embracing the music of my grandfather's generation "down home".

I think that was Jeff Muldaur singing, it sounds like him. And is that Jim Kweskin on guitar ? They were tearing it up in coffee houses in America and Canada back then. I saw the real thing in 1966 and it stands out in my life. Maria was a skinny little thing in 1966.

As Kweskin ages his vocals sound more and more like early Randy Newman. Which is a good thing.

I know, my original point was that this should just be called the 'Jim Kweskin Jug Band'.
