Without any doubt, the Jim MacLeod Band was the very best, with the distinctive "RANCO" sound accordion played the one and only Tommy Ford. All the band members were a sheer pleasure to meet and speak to and their music was the best! Happy times in the Hydro, always packed. Jim Macleod indeed was a truly 'a man of music'!!

Tommy Ford owned 2 Ranco accordions. On for Broadcasts and TV and the other for playing at the Hydro in Dunblane. Great sounding accordion - unique sound of the Jim MacLeod Band days.

Alex Doig on drums, John Sinton on bass fiddle, Jim Cleland on second accordion, Tommy Ford Lead accordion and Jim Macleod on Piano. Tunes Master David Cleland and The Dunblane Hydro March. Interestingly no fiddler in the band on this recording due to Ron Gonella calling off.

Definately the MacLeod sound, with Tommy Ford on the Ranco. However, the video shows Gary Blair playing in a hall, not Dunblane Hydro! Old film footage with a studio recording of recent times.

Deffo two boxes there.......Mr Ford and A.N.Other. Unless Mr Blair is playing with a backing track........I think somebody's trying to be too clever, dubbing JM onto a GB film...
