Wow! That was soooo good, Jim. Suddenly, it's 1971 and I'm a wide-eyed 17-year-old soaking it all in at Road Atlanta again. Masterful driving, as always. Love your work both on the track and with the video editor. Can't wait for the next walk down memory lane. Superb!

Naah it is not 71,, the car has mufflers! And the track is too good as well. I would love to drive that car at that track though, even with mufflers!

There is something about monster motors and the sound. This vid is great, that distinctive sound makes the sensation of car pulling to power. Nice work.

Man, Jim...you get to drive some legendary , amazing cars! I've driven some of these tracks, but watching how fast the scenery goes by in this McLaren is just awesome.

The big block CanAm has SO MUCH acceleration it is difficult to appreciate on video. The other prototype cars being passed are FAST and well driven but completely outclassed with raw power. Braking and handling are vintage and the brute power is to be RESPECTED. A blast to drive in honor of those that raced Can Am before. Thanks for watching. JP

It would be cool if that mic could be filtered. I always loved the sound this car made.

Now this era was when race cars actually had to be manually DRIVEN - ain't no TRACTION CONTROL! Ain't no ASB BRAKING system. Drivers actually used their most prized body organs to drive them to success - their NUTS!

Great! A life without experiencing Can-Am cars one way or another is not worth living. Fantastic to see a great driver wringing the neck of a McLaren.

Great observation about Can Am - most spectacular racing of all time. Jim was just great as you say. Proved himself in everything. So gut wrenching to lose him to this disgusting thing. Breaks my heart.

If their roles were reversed and Jim was driving the LMP car he would blow by the M8 as if it were standing still...just sayin

I have a video where a 3 liter Matra V12 of 1970's beats a 8F!
