Jim Reid is the man. Thank you for all the amazing music over the years. I’m glad to see you’re still healthy and doing well

I went to the Loch Lomond Bear Park festival with Jim and a few others in 1979. What a gig that was, what a line-up; Stranglers, Dr Feelgood, Dickies, UK Subs & others... We only did the first day, but it was phenomenal.

I feel soooo lucky to have seen them in Minneapolis at First Ave in '85; Psychocandy Tour obviously. Bobby G. standing cross legged behind the 'Micro Kit'........'The Hardest Walk' live; sent chills down my spine.

It’s funny... I’ve never understood why people think that 80’s pop was so good... the clothes, the vibe. He’s right... it was generally shit and it’s thanks to bands like Jesus snd Mary Chain that allowed us to escape spandau ballet and culture club...

I daresay it's mainly nostalgia. There was a lot of rubbish out then. I also never paid any attention to the main like Top 40 stuff here in NY, like Gloria Estefan or whatever. No interest. Rick Astley, etc. Who in the world nowadays listens to the likes of Hayze Fantayzee?

I saw them a few times in the 80s/90s with the Rollercoaster gig at The Apollo Theatre,Manchester, March 1992 being the best one. I may go and see them at The Royal Albert Hall, Manchester, March 2024. I like their versions of The Cramps, New Kind Of Kick and I'm In With The Out Crowd, which is awesome, as opposed to Roxy Music's , I'm In With The In Crowd

It's a somewhat London-affected East Kilbride accent. Same as Jim Kerr's "Glasgow" accent. Jim Reid's accent hasn't really changed much since 1978 / 79.

He was always quite uncomfortable in social situations back in the late 70s.
