The reason the streak was special is because it started organically it wasnt pushed down our throats plus Taker's character had that aura of been Invincible so it fit perfectly for him to be a God in Wrestlemania

Love JR. I've been lucky enough to meet him. I had an old-school, WWF, Hasbro, wrestling figure, backing card made and had him sign it. Then, I customised a picture frame and used a real suit, shirt and tie, plus a Sooners pin. It's hanging on my wall as a reminder of meeting a legend. Met Taker, too. I had him sign my Series 8 MOC Hasbro. He's a big bugger!

Taker should be on everyone’s Mount Rushmore
@ShadowAngel606
9 ай бұрын
Why? The "Mount Rushmore" (idiotic murican concept) should consist of the biggest innovators and draws in wrestling. You already have to decide between Joe Stecher, Ed Lewis, Jim Londos, Lou Thesz, Gorgeous George, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and The Rock - at least, there are of course more names from the past for consideration. The Undertaker never was a big draw (in the 90's quite the contrary actually), all he has is longevity because he was around for ages, but that's it.

The streak imo was like Taker, larger than life, there was a kind of mystic around him and his character , ending the streak kind ruined it a small bit, only a small bit though, definitely one of my favourites , he genuinely scared me when i was kid, there will never be the like of him again.

I like how JR talk about being judicious with Takers health. The did a great job keeping a big guy around for so long. You look at other big guys from that era and can see the difference. Brock ending the streak is realistic if you think about it. Did he need it? Absolutely not. But Vince seems to like things like that to end, right? People tend to eventually lose. Other than Cain Velasquez, Brock is the best actual fighter in WWE history and it’s not even close. A legitimate 6’3 285-290 on fight night former UFC Heavyweight Champion. He would smoke everyone else in real life lol. He’s a legit freak athlete, makes it more realistic in my opinion.

I just couldn't bear myself to watch the New Orleans match because it was so infamous for being the one thing which defined Taker's later last half of his wrestling career which nobody is going to duplicate probably in our lifetimes and our generations after. There was nothing like it anywhere in sport entertainment and this even included the Homerun race between McQuire, Sosa, and Bonds because it wasn't clouded by some kind of juicing bullshit and when it was abruptly ended, it was like you had taken a large bat of charged up negative energy that you drove into everyone's gut because nobody expected The Streak would ever be affected even though Taker by this point was only doing wrestlemania appearances because he had wrecked himself for the good of the business.

Undertaker is one of the best in the business. Not just as a performer and character but as a person he always made sure the right thing was going to get done whether it was his match or not, it was always about business and whats right for everyone. As far as the streak goes. Ive heard Undertaker speak on it and he wasn't opposed or upset about it ending and thats what matters the most. However before hearing him speak on it ive said and agree with taker it didnt need to be brock. Im not mad or upset it ended im mad because it shouldn't have been brock to end it if it was to end or not. Does it make sense brock beat taker? Yes it does brock is a big, strong, talented and agile guy so for him to win against a guy like taker makes sense but it didn't need to be wrestlemania. Id prefer taker to have ended undefeated at wrestlemania for everything that hes done. But as mark said himself to end it, it should have been someone else that needed it. Roman beating him at mania later didnt have the same feel.

Taker has said that he wanted to lose it to someone who could use the rub. The last minute decision was for Brock to go over him, but the idea was already on the table that losing it would boost someone else.
