Pete - “You’ll never be Hendrix, because he was Hendrix. Just be the best you!” This is the best guitar advice (from a master player!) and can be applied to any of our guitar heroes that we can be sometimes tempted to emulate. Be inspired by these masters and then use that inspiration to become your own unique guitar playing self. Then you’ll be playing from your heart, as your genuine true self. Great episod , mighty amps from PRS and many thanks for the ongoing humour and lightness that you bring to the world Andertons crew, you bring happiness to us guitar nerds in these strange and troubled times!

That just means you need one, or one like it. So you can *_make_* yourself that good. I'm not kidding or ragging on you. Amps like this will make you a better player because they subtract all of the help and excuses you get from more, shall we say, helpful amps. There's nothing like one of these loud, stripped-down, no-frills amps to make you (and everyone else for miles around) hear *_exactly_* how good or bad a guitarist you are. Instant motivation to get serious about improving. Plus, you will be introduced to the wide universe of dynamics.

When you guys are really enjoying the gear for real, it can be pretty infectious. The amps did sound really good and the next level sound quality of Anderton's video production really brings out the best of them. I have a request to ask of Lee and Pete. I would love to see you guys play your respective Telecasters more often in videos. I know they have featured many times before. Especially Pete's famous purple one. However, I don't ever tire of seeing or hearing it. I'm also a massive fan of Lee's black Thinline Tele and I would've loved to have heard it thru these PRS amps. I know that you guys have to feature a variety of guitars, but I'd like to hear that Thinline Tele more often in general if possible. Thanks for another great video. I enjoyed that.

Pete saying to not be Hendrix, but instead just be you is a great lesson. You can't be the greats of yesteryear, but you can be the great of tomorrow. Also, those amps can totally do metal if you want them to do metal. Get something with humbuckers, a Tube Screamer and crank those things. That's what Metallica did in their early days and it worked well enough.

I think the 50 is a great amp. Put it into a Reactive Load (Suhr or Fryette) and slave the line signal into an effects return of one of your other amps (needs to be an active loop) or go through a solid state power amp. You will be arriving at a nice home/studio level and a superb sound. No matter if clean or cranked up this thing is great and sounds absolutely beautiful. When you live in the home of Marshall I’m not sure why you would buy a more expensive American emulation of one. PRS do seem to be driven to have their copies of Fender, Gibson, Marshall, and Klonn. I wonder if this is a pre cursor to the Hendrix estate endorsed Silver Sky?
@PaulCooksStuff
Жыл бұрын
0k, so you're the head of a guitar+amp company. The Hendrix estate invite you to study his (highly modified and non standard marshall) amp, understand how and why it's non standard, and build designs based on it. You're seriously going to decline that once in a lifetime opportunity and watch the next company in line take up the invite?!! One of the largest selling guitar artists of the generation wants to leave his Fender endorsement because they don't listen to his ideas for change. He's willing to align with you on the condition that you make him a fender shaped body because he's familiar with it. You're going to turn him away and watch the next company bite his arm off?!! Good luck growing your company to the upper echelons of the sector.

Effect loops can add or reduce volume. My Bugera has an effect loop send and return volume knob for just this purpose. If it doesn't have those knobs, it's entirely possible there's a very slight boost or cut to volume, which could be perceived as a shift in tone. I don't think they change or reduce any tone as long as the send and return is unity volume with the amp itself. Anyone saying otherwise is just pointing out the Fletcher Munson effect
@terrybanks5063
Жыл бұрын
not all fx loops are created equally and thats just a fact. and they absolutely CAN AND WILL suck your tone if you dont have a good one. theres tube powered loops, solid state loops, buffered loops for a start. which is yours? i bet you dont even know. educate yourself before making bold statements. its not all about volume either. not at all actually. volume is the easy thing to control. youre putting a loop in the middle of the preamp section and powertubes. you can change TONE drastically in doing this. youre completely changing the natural signal path of the beginning circuit. im an amp builder myself. listen to dave friedman or that pedal show on fx loops. you will learn its not the fletcher munson effect whatsoever actually. not at all! youve picked up false info somewhere or youre just an opinionated keyboard warrior. either way, dont share your shitty second hand information until you know its correct and no one can take you to school about it.
@DudeMcGuybro
Жыл бұрын
@@terrybanks5063 I agree, not all are created equally, I even state that myself. There can be cuts or boosts in volumes in effect loops which can be perceived as "tone sucking". We literally agree on these concepts. Tube, solid state only really gives a slight color to the tone, but you can't argue that every potentiometer is made precisely the same, and that there's zero variation between unities between potentiometers. That's literally all I am saying here. There are variances in potentiometers in effects loops. These are things even the people you mention agree with, and state as well. You can have two of the exact same amp, exact same pedal setup, and they can sound different. Why? Slight variation in components from the amp, any of the pedals, the effects loop, the EQ, the input jacks... I mean it's endless.
