Still considered by many (most?) guitarists to have been the greatest electric guitarist to ever step foot on this earth. Frequently referred to as "the master axeman." I visited his grave in 2015 then drove to Seattle to visit the grave of Bruce Lee, then I drove back to Texas.

Jimi barely knew Jani..as a matter of fact i read you can count on one hand how many times Jimi saw Jani but yet she has control over his estate..and not his brother Leon..Jani is a half sister..Leon is jimi's full brother and he spent a lot of time with Jimi..figure that one out

He may have been Jimi's full brother, but Leon had a history of alcoholism and drug abuse. That said, Jimi's dad decided to leave the estate to his stepdaughter, believing that she would have been most likely not to squander the massive fortune. Personally, I thought that was a wise decision.

@@lwmson I reluctantly agreed, he seems a bit frivolous and flakey.

Al Hendrix & Jani were tighter than a banjo string. Let’s not forget Paul Allen cofounder of Microsoft and huge Jimi fan who made a lot of things happen restoring Jimi’s rightful legacy in Seattle

Jimi and Jani are not even blood-related... Her mother married Al, that's all.
