Personally, any team gettin rid of Jimmy is a mistake. The Bulls, TWolves, Sixers all experienced some kind of significant decline after he left. -Bulls record in his last season: 41-41 -Bulls next three: 27-55 / 22-60 / 22-43 -TWolves record his last season: 47-35 -TWolves next three : 36-46 / 19-45 / 23-49 Sixers weren't as bad, but in his only season they were 3rd and a crazy rim bounce away from going into OT and potentially the finals. The year following, the Sixers were 6th in the east and were swept in the 1st round interestingly enough by a Celtics squad who were ironically beaten 4-2 by a Jimmy Butler led Heat team that eventually lost in the Finals because LeBron recruited one of the best players in the league in Anthony Davis who was top 10 the previous season in points per game, rebounds per game, and blocks per game to help him win a title. Butler played out of his mind in leading a group of underdogs averaging just shy of a triple-double a game. The combined statlines of LeBron and A.D. were just too much though. G.D. I wanted him to win that one so bad.

This shot was the craziest butterfly effect in recent years. So many teams blew it up because of this one singular shot that pretty much changed the landscape of the entire league. Jimmy left Philly. GSW broke up their dynasty team. Kawhi and PG went to the clippers. Kyrie and KD to the nets. It was wild.

I get what you're saying but GS broke itself, with the drama and injuries during the season and playoffs.

The NBA script was already written that year, but Masai Ujiri and 2019 Kawhi went off it and changed history. Definitely one of the most dominant single season that a single player had in these past few years. No one was expecting the Raptors to win it all, it was an incredible time to be a fan. Bittersweet that it only lasted a year, still thankful for that squad tho.

@@KellyQ ok well heres some ideas, they never made it far in the playoffs after that shot. They got good players coming in and leaving. They never could find their rhythm. 2 different coaching staff in less than 4 yrs..etc 2018-2019 76ers team were one of the best teams in the league. If Toronto lost that game they would went all the way and beat any team coming out of the west. That’s how stacked they were.

That Philly team was what an 80s dynasty looked like. An mvp candidate, followed by 2 top 10-15 players, followed by an all star caliber player followed by a player that not only starred but excelled in his role and put up near all star caliber numbers. All it needed was a great coach and it would’ve lead to multiple years of success.

As a coach of 8th grade baseball, i totally get that feeling. You have a team you feel in your soul is good enough to win it all, and when they lose that last game of the season, you dont feel sad because you lost a game, but because you know that this group that you grew to care about cant try again
