I used to watch Jimmy play at Tattoo restaurant/bar on Saint-Laurent (later replaced by Disalvios). This was around the time that he was hired by Pagliaro. There was a jam night every Wednesday and he was usually backed by Carl Rufh and John McColgan. It was a very creative period in Montreal, with a number of smaller venues where exceptional musicians could come together regularly.

John also finger picks his leads. Another cool thing about John... Jimmy James is new to me. Incredible playing.

I used to see Jimmy James in the 80's at the 🌈 Rainbow Bar and Grill on Stanley st. in Montreal. He could really rip like hell all over the neck. You'd think he sold his soul to the devil to play the way he did!

Wow brings me back to my younger days. John mc gale and Jimmy James. Mark the tall guy and the short Japanese guy would glom to anything you played. Never made it I guess and now I'm a lot older and you guys too. Still love them days but yesterday is you yesterday
