Shellfish farms are amazing. My ancestors, the coast salish people, practiced mariculture in the PNW before European contact. I'm so happy people are doing this now.

I'm from Ensenada, and as a word of advice, I would not eat any of the fish from here, like at all, because the water is so polluted by all the poop water from Ensemada, that's why Playa Hermosa has been closed for two years now, the water treatment plant broke and the government doesn't really care enough to fix it, so all the waste water as it goes away from your toilet, literally straight to the ocean, and then to the fish you eat, yum!. It goes full circle huh? (Eddit): Forgot to mention that the watter in Ensenada is the most polluted water in Mexico.

When will you talk about the human trafficking, and the dolphin and shark murdering to keep the tuna all for humans. How we literally murder animals for their food. Stealing it sometimes right from their mouth. You really should do more research into the impacts of these practices.

The tunas pens are not sustainable. The blue fin the pens are still wild caught just smaller. The only argument for why it is more sustainable is the tuna in the pens can gain the same amount of weight with less food but all the food given to them is with nets that have high bycatch rates and the boats burn fuel to catch the food for the tuna. Also the boats catching food for the tuna are then taking away food sources for the wild population of tuna and every other animal there. So the tuna in the pens are not any more sustainable than wild caught tuna and are arguable less sustainable.
@rhettallan4625

These tuna pens are absolutely ruining the water visibility and wildlife presence around that part of Ensenada. All the local fishermen are very very upset about them. Im glad to see that someone knew they aren’t sustainable.

I'm from Ensenada and this kind of things make me so upset to see, when people bring them up as a great thing. The water from Ensena is THE worst from the county, literally from the entirety of mexico, the worst most polluted beaches are from Ensenada.

@@ezyyisgreat1724 I live in San Diego too!!, and it's true, the Mexican government really does not care. I saw in the news how one of the main souces of pollution for San Diego waters is the Tijuana river, because people trow their plastics and then end up in the other side of the border. It's really sad, and the people don't really care...

I'm not really a huge fan of this type of video. The science is glossed over and watered down, and where discussions of science and sustainability should be, we get a condescending conversation with the local experts. You can tell there was some money thrown at this production, and it reminds me of something you'd see on cable television, complete with the obvious ad break spots.
