Big Jimmy, won’t never be another as poised and talented a pure vocalist.

I Agree Jimmy Ruffin had a Wonderful 59 year career as a Solo Artist at the same time He was One in a Million that was Ruffin's last song before his death In (2014) Berry Gordy said that Jimmy was a Phenomenal Singer and true he was the greatest singer of all time and he had a lot of awesome songs too but most of the good songs he did never became Hits especially three songs he did for Soul Junction records. He also sang 6 duets with 6 different singers including his brother David. (2021) the UK released two songs by Jimmy Ruffin called Take me back and Make me a winner they were awesome but I don't think they became Hits they should. Jimmy Ruffin was indeed legendary and he will be missed so much even his family misses him so much.

@@jonathanclary3992 I'd heard the "Private Number" version duet, and album with David, however, with which other artists did he collaborate with on singles?

@@bennyadler5882 He sang Private number with singer Dusty Springfield, He sang My Brothers keeper with David Ruffin, then he sang with Marcy Levy on his album Sunrise, Then He sang with Maxine Nightingale Then he sang with Paul Weller, then he sang with Jackson Moore, Then he sang with Heaven 17 and then lastly he sang with Brenda Holloway. For the rest of his Solo career he sang other songs on his own Songs that should have been Hits cause most of his other he sang he wrote and produced himself.

You clearly hear instrumentation from "Girl Why You Wanna Make Me Blue" all throughout the song with (I think) The Originals singing backgrounds, 1:09 male background voice must be CP Spencer sounding like Eddie Kendricks.

Jimmy Ruffin was never nominated for a Grammy Award or inducted into the Hall of Fame which is crazy cause he had worked for 59 years.

Brilliant, here is Gladys Knight and the Pips version that was on the first Motown LP that was purchased : kzitem.info/news/bejne/joemuKqnn4WBln4 Must admit this is just as dreamy as Gladys Knight's version.

One of the most underrated of Motown's artists. This gem has a strut about it that gives even Marvin Gaye a run for his money. The magic of this record is Jimmy Ruffin's totally effortless delivery that runs plenty deep. While little brother David was busy learning "My Girl," big brother Jimmy was delivering the goods here.
