Jimmy is almost unconsciously unresponsive to threats, challenges, and whimsies posed to him by the characters with whom he is confronted. That is an individual that has bore witness to such atrocities that he is no longer effected by trivialities. War will do that.

It wasn’t intimidation that he did that. Nobody could intimidate him. He just would get tired of hearing something or didn’t want to keep arguing about something he would do it. Allen Iverson I think that scene had more to do with Jimmy’s inability to navigate obstacles within his business. He made poor business decisions and was inexperienced with power plays and positioning at the top. Jimmy was an effective soldier he wasn’t a very good politician. That’s why at the veterans memorial opening Jimmy came up to Nucky and said “you don’t think I know how to play this game?” And Nucky says to Jimmy “I don’t even think you know the rules” it all ended up being true unfortunately

@@deathrager2404 Yes, Michael Pitt was hard to work with, however, storywise, i think was also the feeling that Manny gave to jimmy, like a father authority figure. As we all know from jimmy's upbringing, that never set in well with him. For starter's his relationship with the commodore, or the reunion with the elders at the mansion when he got hit by one of them for not taking things seriously, ending in a reckless retaliation. As @Brendissimo points out, Manny's patience was strong, specially towards jimmy because, eventho the meeting was a success and he saw in jimmy a man on the come and saw him as a kid that could learn, he knew business was business, 5k or 500k didn't matter. By the time Jimmy pushed doyle off the second floor at babbette's, he knew jimmy didn't have what it takes to keep his affairs in order, or learn by that matter.

ISUPK KENTUCKY Jimmy set his family up to be touched when he started conducting meetings out of his home. It's why Remus commented on it, when they meet. Not only is it unprofessional, but it's flat out dangerous in that line of work. All it takes is one snitch (Mickey) to give up information, and he had good reason, when Jimmy got too bigheaded by throwing Doyle off the ledge infront of Manny. Even though, Capone or Luciano were probably gonna whack him eventually. Jimmy didn't have the makings of a Boss. He knew how to enforce, but was sloppy at running an operation. Soured what could've been a good alliance with Philly, over a 5K advance. Had Jimmy honored his word, Manny would've been out of town muscle like Frankie Yale to Capone.

Munya! We made it. Manny Horvitz, this is the fella I called you about. Jimmy Darmody. Mr. Horvitz. You're Darmody? He's just a baby. I thought you liked em' young, Manny. If we're talking veal, yes. But when it comes to business It's nice to meet you. - You speak Yiddish? - That's all I know. Still, you make an effort. I'm impressed. Already I feel this is going well. This man looks interesting. My associate, Mr. Harrow. What happened to you? I put my nose where it didn't belong. You're funny. He's a sweetheart, and Mickey is a gonif from way back. Introduce yourself. - Herman Kaufman. - All right, Herman. First in his class at Eastern State Penitentiary. I'm kidding. Herman only did county time. Can I get you fellas something to eat? No, but thank you. You're gonna smell the cooking and you're gonna get hungry. Avram, fry this up with some onions. So what's your pleasure, Mr. Horvitz? Munya, or Manny. My pleasure? I got a daughter. She's an angel. And my wife? Ankles got thick, but I love her anyway. And Waxey Gordon is a cocksucking piece of shit. - Why is that? - He's a greedy prick, with his hand in my ass pocket where my wallet should be. Fuckin' khazer. Eight years I work with the man. Promises made and now where am I? Talking to a baby in a butcher shop. I like you, boychik. Nice warm feeling. We hear you're flush with hooch. - You heard right. - How'd you like to make some dough? We didn't come to Philly for the brisket. You got liquor. We got money. You see where I'm driving? I need cash up front. First consider I got restaurants, about 10 blocks or so in Jew town Weikel off Somerset. It's a nice opportunity. We do 100 cases a week, build our business from there. And stick it right up Waxey's tuchus. Still has to be in advance. Five grand, we can make delivery anytime. That's a lot of green. You could always say no. We got a deal. But just so we're clear, my icebox is filled with pieces of fellas who tried to fuck me over. I just got creamsicles in mine. Mr. Harrow will be in touch. Gentlemen. I love the way Manny says, Oy she's just a baby hahaha. Anyway Jimmy really screwed up, he should have just paid him. He's not a very good leader. SPOILER!!!!!!!!! Poor Wife had to pay for it. Completely innocent. So sad and so messed up for Manny to do that. Season finale is tomorrow and I get the feeling something very bad will happen to Jimmy and we will not be seeing Michael Pitt next season. That sucks.

Good looking kid, talented soldier, but way too many issues. Made for handy muscle, but not cut out for leader material.
