A few I remember from their original broadcasts, but most of them vaguely. I remember the Coca-Cola "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" commercial pretty clearly from the early 70s. It became a hit song, with some of the lyrics slightly altered to remove all references to Coke. The refrain was changed from "It's the real thing" to "That's the song I hear".
@joegongora2200
5 жыл бұрын
More great commercials I'd thought I'd never see the Coca-Cola song... I'd like to buy the world a Coke...Cos it's a real thing. That certainly looked great people of different nationalities for the Coke commercial. The message that was being preached was love & peace. What's ironic was Armour Hot Dogs. Because I just got through eating hot dogs. But the sad part they weren't Armour Hot Dogs. It's so ironic it had to be shown on this clip. The Monkees for Kool-Aid commercials. People hardly drink that anymore. Those commercials do bring back the memories. Thanks for sharing this with us...Because those days aren't coming back.

The Monkees alternating sponsors were Kellogg's and Yardley in first run. The Kool -Aid ad was for Saturday morning repeats on CBS notice Peter Tork isnt there. Joanie Sommers singing the Pepsi jingle. This was her second campaign. The first one circa 1961 - 65 🎶 Pepsi for those who think young 🎵. Was followed by this one 🎶Come Alive ..you're in the Pepsi generation 🎶 which I believe ran thru 1967. By the way that vending machine must've had the world's longest extension cord 😉. Could you imagine the outrage if that Armour Hot Dog ad ran today (Fat kids, sissy kids) ? That Campbell Soup ad was an obvious parody of the song Love & Marriage . Thanks Fred.

Looks like, from what I could find, Peter Tork had left The Monkees by 1969-1970 when those Kool-Aid commercials were filmed. I wasn't even aware of that back then. Go figure. Mozart, Beethoven, et al are remembered only because they wrote their music down. These more modern classics will be remembered only because you write them down, keep them alive. Great video. And Joanie Sommers sang the Pepsi Generation song - she sang another one (I think) in Vol. 1, but I've forgotten which. Somewhere I've seen a 1965 VW commercial with an unknown actor by the name of Dustin Hoffman.

Soooo, how many of us played 4:03+ a bunch of times at progressively slower speeds just to make sure we still remembered the words Crackel was singing??? And what's the "It's Raisins that make..." guy's name - I remember him as a character actor appearing in lots of shows in the 60s. Thank's for another Happy Sing Along video!!!

Mamie Van Doren is still with us, and up until a few years ago was still posting new nude and bikini pix on her website. (Strange, considering she's over 90 years old...)

Wonderful. Again, I remembered most of them. Do you know who actually sang the Coke song? It sounded similar to The New Christy Minstrels. Just wondering. Thanks again!

@ 01:25, I suffered cosmic reverberations - that I'd just seen an outtake from "The Bewitchin' Pool"; starring Rocket J. Squirrel, as June Foray, and the very last episode of Serling's "The Twilight Zone", not a Campbell's Soup commercial. That which follows, is a totally true story, and presented in an accurate retelling: "Campbell's Tomato Soup has caused my brand new 1955/1957/1957 RCA CTC-1 Color Television set to go on the blink, it's ruined!! I paid almost $2,000.00 (in 1955 money) for it, I demand a new TV set, and one not built between August and mid-October, either that, or you're buying me a brand new Zenith or Motorola!!": www.circuitinsight.com/programs/49542.html

The Post Raisin Bran one I don’t remember at all. The Frito Bandito one, cringe worthy. I had a Frito Bandito pencil topper eraser. IIRC it was voiced by Mel Blanc.
