Jinhao shark are cute looking pens, and popular too, but I wasn't interested in owning one until I saw the metallic version. I first noticed them on Ebay but the metallic colors were sold out, so I later ordered on Aliexpress.
The writing is acceptable, just a bit of a feedback not as smooth and effortless as Lamy or TWSBI, but I can't recommend them if you're looking for a specific nib size since they don't seem to be consistent. Very light weight pens and on the small side so would probably be nice for children.
Despite the different shape standard cartridges do seem to fit, but not an international standard converter, Lamy cartridges can't grip and the Jinhao converter doesn't seem to fit other brands
Non comprehensive summary of what I noticed about the nibs:
- metallic grey F and transparent red F seem to write as intended
- metallic blue EF is closer to an F size
- metallic blue and gold F nibs are finer than the EF nibs
Most of the finer nibs were in the same plastic bag, I wonder if they were two separate batches.
