Her vocals style is called growls rather than Fry. She hates when people call her vocals a vocal fry lol. It’s all good great reaction!👍

How easily she slips in and out of the vocal fry ! Amazing talent both band and lead!

Holy crap - what was that. Wasn’t looking at the screen and it immediately made me look at the screen. Was a total shock to hear her do that. I have only heard/seen guys do that kind of gravelly singing. I do like the fact that she is singing like that and I can still understand the words. 😂

It's a false vocal scream with probably some fry as well. But she is the best in the business. This is just pure amazing talent, and YES, the band on this track is just incredible. They are seamless in their transitions, just like Tati. Never get tired of listening to this one.

Loved the way you summed that up. :-) I mean, what can you possibly say, that performance speaks for itself. And yes, those guitar riffs in 2nd half of the song are disgrossting! Killer track from an amazing band.

Fun reaction. This is some of my favorite lyrics Tatiana has written, and some of my favorite vocals she has sung. Yet somehow, my favorite part of this song is the musical composition. Incredibly artful work. Thanks for the reaction. Cheers! p.s. Growls, screams, harsh vocals, whatever you want to call it is all good. Ok some folks get triggered if anyone who isn't a metal musician calls them screams tho haha. I assume they deal with it when metal musicians call them that. ;)

Because you mentioned the guitar riff around the 4:10 mark, for your own pleasure and on your own time (not a reaction request) check out the live in Melbourne version of this same song. Tatiana not only nails it in that version, but it's a prime example of the entire band at their best... well, honestly much like most of their live performances. Well worth the time to see though. They've just released a CD of the Melbourne show and based on video for this song and "Teacher, Teacher" which was recently released, I'll be purchasing that.

I just made the same suggestion. Sorry, I should have scrolled down the comments further, but oh well. Two of us making the same suggestion is a good thing.

great reaction! t's a growl not vocal fry. I had to watch some vocal coaches react and explain it. It truly is mind blowing...the whole band is.

Tatiana doesn’t “fry”: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pYaH2Wt4f4mihmUm09s Metalheads refer to it as “growling”; Tatiana and Eugene use the term “extreme vocals”.

Sorry but this song sounds like 2 different genres mixed together to me. Don't attack it 's just not my taste and sounds like a mess. She's done better stuff!

Well, it is two different genres blended together. You're entitled to having an opinion. Although it may be wrong, you can have one 🤘

Her biggest singing influences are Mikael Akerfeldt and Gwen stefani, and this song is basically... well, those two put together, lol.
