I just come back from Armenia, and this song was played to me by my armenian friend. He told me that whenever his grandfather heard this song he had tears in his eyes. Beautiful instrument and even more beautiful song. Armenia will always be in my heart. Greetings from Croatia!!!

Thank you brother! This kind of music enters your veins and makes you tremble. It tells the story of Anatolia - it's beauty and tragedy. If only we all lived in peace side by side as brotherly neighbours.

Hello, I was so happy and touched by your comment! I am a Russian , to me Armenians are like brothers and I feel deep love for a Turkish person. I feel bonded with both of the cultures. Çok güzel! :D Спасибо! After I've read some very hatefull comments of Turks and Armens towards each other it made me sad... Thanks for posting this wonderful comment :D

Does anyone here know how to play the duduk? For example, while playing it such as in this song, there is always the hummm of the tonic key in the background (in this case, an A flat or G# constantly humming behind the haunting melody). Kind of like a bagpipe, where you constantly hear a B flat humming in the background (or whatever key it's in). But how does a duduk maintain that hum and be able to make a melody at the same time? It really touches the soul.

It's to create an exotic/ancient/sorrowful sound. Rome was a bit far from Armenia, but hey, I thought the music went well with Gladiator.

@eyesofpegasus I hope you realise Mr Gasparyan is displaying how we, the Armenians feel. No other nation is able to play on our instrument, the duduk or the zurna, as Armenians, as him. Because that sweet music represent our hurt. Ps: he will return to turkey whenever The Armenian Genocide is recognized by ur government. and also one thing with political issues you mean The Armenian Genocide?! That isn't a political issue, that's a humanitarium issue.

@MarineM1 My friend if you come Turkey you can listen to deeply painful songs with very sad Turkish instruments such as baglama. And these instruments and songs are not less painful compared to Gasparyan. We do not race our pains here. That would be an idiot approach. I do not recognize your so called jenocide assertion as many members of my families were killed by Armenians during WW I. You lost the war and named your defeat genocide. You killed thousands of innocents and got its answer.
