John Weldon "J. J." Cale (December 5, 1938 - July 26, 2013) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he deliberately avoided the limelight his influence as a musical artist has been widely acknowledged by figures such as Neil Young and Eric Clapton.

@@robertm2000 Check out Christine's indie releases FIREWORKS, RECKONING and more recently TURN TO ME. Just avoid the LIVE album with her band THE CODE from a winery. Sounds like a contractual obligation that never shoulda been released due to sound quality. I remain confused as to why more young bands and artists haven't recorded her material. Bonnie Raitt, especially, has issued some albums with weak material and I can think of a dozen songs Christine has written and cut with The Code and with Cale under various names that coulda connected. Jazz singers especially should check out her songwriting on these albums for fresh sounding material that has that intimate quality associated with true artists like Cale... They wouldn't allow J.J. to play..He told them that he was going home..to hell with National Television Exposure..
