Yeah, it does. Free speech implies that you will sometimes hear things you hate. It also means you can engage or walk away. When you silence free speech and stop engagement, that's when the horrors begin. The first act of any totalitarian approach is censorship and the Critical Theorists are showing their totalitarian colours every time they label anything they don't care for 'hate speech'. Also in their insistence that anyone who is not on their side must be against them. Because I don't care for Stalin doesn't mean I like Hitler for goodness' sake! It's perfectly possible to despise both. Of course, Critical Social Justice theory cannot bear genuine free speech, so they insist on controlling it until it is blatant censorship under another name. All the totalitarians who have gone before would be nodding approvingly at you.

I work in a tattoo shop, once there was two girls in having Harry Potter tattoos and they started talking about how they still hate JK Rowling. I asked them what they thought she had actually done or said, all they could say is that she is a racist transphobe. After correcting them about the trans part, I wanted to know why they thought she was a racist, so I asked them. The answer I got was this “she had one Chinese character in HP and called her CHO CHANG!” I made the point that Cho Chang is actually a Chinese name, and that they’d only hate her more if she had been called something like ‘Sophie Jonson’. It doesn’t matter how much reason and logic you give to these people, it goes through one ear and out the other because they revel in having a common enemy and feeling like they are standing up against the hateful oppressors… one day they just might realise how awful they’ve behaved.

WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY cannot woke people respect other people's opinions. If they cannot do so, then why should their opinion be respected? The criticise Rowling for upsetting people, but I am sure she is right, that is not her intent. However, if a woman has to change in the presence of a trans women or compete against a trans woman, I suppose their becoming upset must not be accounted. Pure bigotry.

JK is totally correct. Women account for around 50% of the population. Trans are 0.01%. why should the vast majority suffer.

You know this just annoys me even more cus i spent weeks being bullied by them for dareing to play Hogwarts legacy and i always said i dont care what she has said or done i keep the art separate from the artist. And now i find out that she actuly wasn’t even acting in the way these people was accusing her of being. These people need to get over themselves and stop looking for things to be outraged about cus life is too short for that sorta thing

Why can't trans ideologues meet us half way? So, so many of us don't have issues with men dressing as a women might, and gender conformity is just silly. However, there are absolutely a category of men in which cross dressing goes hand in hand with their being predators. Russell Williams is a perfect example.

If it helps sell the books, and it does, where's the harm? For the vast majority of normal people, who have enough of being terrorized by freaks, to buy Rowling's books now is the way to state their opinion on the matter. I bet the sales have gone up.

Excellent account. I think the plague of *****phobia accusations (Islam etc) are lazy but, more seriously a type of gaslighting. You have a different opinion on a complex topic, therefore you have a mental health condition. Close to medicalising dissent. Or do these types think that an arachnophobe is someone who disagrees with the opinions of spiders?
