I dont even understand "transphobia" or "homophobia" or any of these pseudo -phobias. The literal definition of a phobia does not align with the use of -phobia in the context that people use it. They use -phobia to dismiss legitimate criticisms of people who have opted to publicly promote their lifestyle, which should be kept private. If you make something public, people will tell you their opinions about it. Criticizing "transgenderism" or "gender identity" for oppressing women is righteous. We have established privileges of safety and fairness for women and this ideology actively destroys those privileges.

Her dad and uncle apparently had epic discussions/arguments, where they'd ring a bell every 10 minutes and switch sides. (Both pasted away before I was born.) My mom taught me to be able to argue both sides, and I am constantly doing this in my work and personal life. The implication of “-phobic” is that your fear is irrational. The label is intended to instantly ostracize and silence you. The problem is that it is often completely rational to fear things. For example, it is rational for a woman to fear being raped by a cross-dressing man. That’s not a phobia. That’s a healthy fear.

Thats a great question. I don‘t think there is anything wrong with it. I‘m gay and really don‘t care if someone is homophobic as long as they aren‘t violent, overtly hateful or aggressive to gay people, but violence, hateful behaviour and aggression are bad things in themselves, no matter what the opinions of the perpetrators. I think the problem with these phobias is more about social cohesion and fitting in. I consider myself transphobic because I am genuinely scared of the ideology that brainwashes people into lying about what they see, but i would never intentionally hurt or offend a person whom considers themselves trans. I wouldn‘t go out of my way to use the correct pronoun, I just tend to stay away from trans people because I don‘t want to lie.

"Transphobia" is not real - "homophobia" isn't even real. No one has an _irrational_ fear of "trans" people. I have very rational criticisms of the ideology that pushes "transgenderism" and "gender identity" and "transgenderism" itself. "Transphobia" is a dog whistle; it is used to dismiss debate, criticism and opinions while positioning oneself as the victim. The real victims are the children on puberty blockers. The real victims are "trans" people who were coerced into destroying their bodies. The real victims are the women losing sporting events to men.

Bc most ppl would’ve heard of it, and even if they hadn’t, it gives ppl a specific point to argue. You can’t just generalize a topic like this without giving ppl reference points, and without giving them something they might be emotionally invested in. Specifying an example allows ppl to engage at a deeper level than a general, abstract argument would. Nuance is the name of the game, and you can’t explore nuances of current social topics without giving specific examples. That would be like a married couple arguing over their marriage as a whole rather than specific areas where there’s friction, it’s too broad.
