That's a president we are all proud of as the South Sudan citizens. We must be given the space by international community to invest in ourselves. The war is just inter-clan just like the Tana River crisis in the previous years. I don't blame Kiir or VP but fellow Africa leaders. Freedom fighters don't make the best leaders post independence. I would have put these guys thru school of leadership and management for 6 -12 mo in preparation. Detox from war and leadership in peace and conflict resolution. All they know is gun gun gun and more gun. They had chance to learn not to make mistakes others like Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia, Uganda made after independence. Looks like they learned zero point zero.

You put it it perfectly. If I may add my thoughts on it. The wisest move SS would have done immediately after seceding from the North, would have been seek to have her government placed under a caretaker government by either of her more experienced neighbors Kenya and Uganda. This would have given ample time for consultations between and amongst all relevant leaders of the liberation struggle to agree on how to best run their country. The issue of dividing Africa, and especially Sub Saharan Africa, into tiny bits is retrogressive, and only works to undermine individual countries, and the Sub Saharan region as a whole. It was done by the imperialist for divisive purposes which regrettably are still being witnessed even decades after emancipation from them. Africa should be heading towards unification but not division. SS should have sought to join Kenya or Uganda, but not seek to stand alone.

Unstable countries neighboring Kenya, (Somalia and South Sudan) should be assimilated into Kenya, which will allow Kenyan security forces to move in to restore order and stability, while empowering the local communities to get on their feet. Besides, their respective governments were incubated, set up, hosted, financed by and in Kenya. Their people live and have lived in their millions across Kenya. Somalia already seems to be making great impressive strides towards stability, which then leaves SS. Kenya as a big brother, and pioneer of SS, should not allow SS to relapse into chaos.
