The fact that this man, Tommy James, isn't in the R&R Hall is beyond tragedy! He's been smashing it for well over 50 + years, and his singing chops are still better than most (by FAR!!!). Put that man in the Hall while he's still alive and kickin'!!

This old Shondells ballad isn't ideal for duets. Each of these artists (James, Jett, Grohl, Cyrus) could probably do it more justice if they got the chance to sing it passionately themselves. Jett's own original cover and also Prince's cover are still my favourite interpretations... The best is still the original (slightly trippy) 5-minute version from 1968. :)

Why isn't Tommy James and The Shondell's in the RRHOF yet? I keep thinking about that band having a ton of singles success in the 1960s, and I looked them up to see if they were inducted. Tommy James and The Shndell's formed in 1964 and through the 60s had two huge Number 1 hits in America - 'the gold 'Hanky Panky' and 'Crimson and Clover', which also hit internationally. They wrote and performed 'ol skool' rock n roll, soft rock and psychedelic rock which also landed them 14 top 40 hits, including the aforementioned Number 1s and the following top 10s: "I Think We're Alone Now", 'Mirage', Mony Mony", Sweet Cherry Wine", and "Crystal Blue Persuasion." They were influential with some artists they inspired scoring huge hits with their songs in the 1980s, including Joan Jett and The Blackhearts' ('Crimson and Clover") which hit Number 7 in 1982, and Billy Idol's ('Mony Mony") hitting Number 1 in 1987, and Tiffany's ("I Think We're Alone Now) also hitting Number 1 in that same year. I was surprised that they were not in The Hall. In 2008, Tommy James and The Shondells were voted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. They were real rock n roll stars, and Tommy James is still going after 61 of performing!

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of Miley at all, but I also know virtually nothing about her aside from the "twerking" phase she was in and that she was Hannah Montana. That's all I know. With that said, those backups were very surprising. When she opened her mouth to sing those backups, my jaw dropped. Like, damn! She's a young vocalist with an incredible register. It was a really nice addition to the performance. Edit: It's really discouraging to see how many people didn't like her singing and most have called her a "slut" or something along those lines in the same breath. Makes me wonder if they would've enjoyed it by just listening to the performance with a blindfold on. I don't get down with slutshaming. I don't understand what her sex life has to do with her vocal performance at all. To each their own, but she can definitely sing. Again, I've never been a fan of hers, but it's only because I have yet to find a song I can connect with on a deeper level. I think Wrecking Ball might've done that for me, but that's all I know of at the moment. It's important to recognize real talent when you see it.

Finally, someone with the same opinion that I have about Miley's performance. Her screeching sounded like a creature from a horror movie. The screeching never did hit a correct note. Anyone could notice that. And all of that thrashing her head around and jumping around on stage with her legs sprattled out just to draw all of the attention to herself, without any display of being Noble or respectful to the 2 performers who really mattered. Miley Cyrus should be ashamed.
