Between the buried and me is a perfect example of a band that has maintained their sound while still improving as musicians. Other bands change their names for new projects.

Fair enough, but we're already seeing the idea of odd time signatures and poly rhythms leak out of djent and into other genres. Whitechapel had several odd groves on "A New Era of Corruption," Nevermore had a couple djenty sounding riffs on "The Obsidian Conspiracy," and Tosin Abasi was recently featured on the cover of Guitar World Magazine with Steve Vai. It's making waves bro, I think it's exciting to see how far these waves will go.
